looking for embrios
Here I am again.
Well, talking with hubby looks like unfortunatelly our financies are not good for us to do an ED, however I know about the possibility of finding a clinic(s) with frozen embrios, do you know a clinic in NY or close to NY? How can the doctor will be able to match me and DH with our characteristics? would be possible to see the photos of the donors? What is your experience? Thanks guys.

DH and I just went through this process. The clinic we have been going to (located in the Midwest) does not charge for Donor Embryos. The Clinic only charges you to have them transferred, our is 2300 + meds.
The profiles we were given were number cataloged with basic chareristics, medial history as far down the chan as the grandparents, some even great, great grandparents, but it was pretty basic (ie. eye, hair colors, heighth, weight, hair texture, body type). Depending on how picky you are, this could be a very difficult process, as there were things about every profile we didn't like or something didn't fit with us or whatever, but we also learned that no profile was perfect, and definatley no medical profile was totally clean. We did not see any photo, issued any names of the donors or have access to any personal data (other than their educational status, hobbies, profession, personality, etc). We accepted an annonymous donation so a lot of thes things are not even this detailed. But for us, in the scheme of things, it doesn't matter. We want a healthy baby and in order to accomplish this, we chose to do Donor Embryos. We were looking into adoption, and if this doesn't work, we will move in that direction, however, there are no laws in this state for acceptance of Donor Embryos. Every clinic is very different. Some charge for their leftover DE's, some of the DE's are not graded according to quality (it's just the luck of the draw) and some of them you have go through an entire home study, and the whole adoptions process (as well as some agencies that adopt left over Embryo's out). DH and I were very openminded about this process and it took us less than an hour to do. We had no clue when we opend the envelope what we would have to look at. Once we made our selection and called the RN @ the RE's office, she did give us a bit more personal info and told us that the original cycle yielded 10 five day blast, three were put back and twins was the result. There are 7 remaining embryos that are now ours. Good luck on your search, I hope this helps. Depending on how picky you are and finding the right clinic, and are ready to make this move, you could be on your way soon, but it all depends on where you go, how picky you are, what your looking for, etc. They did offer us embies with our possible blood types first, but it was not a restriction. |

LIttle Miracle,I've been going to CNY Fertility Center in Syracuse, NY..they have a good donor program. (i've used 2 donors through them) they offer split cycles and full cycles. The program runs around 5,400 for a full cycle plus you supply the meds for the donor. (they pay the donor 4,000 for their eggs and the rest is cost of transfer, freezing etc) They won't give you names and pictures of donors but they will give you a list of profiles..(it gives hair color, eye color etc..basic stuff) then if you'd like to see a more detailed profile you can give them the coinsiding number and they'll email you a very detailed profile of them. You get medical history on the donor plus family history etc..its very good and very detailed..and they'll let you know if they have been a donor before and if they've had successful cycles... They do have a website...cnyfertility.com and Pati Breh is the contact person for information if your interested.... Hope this has been helpful to you!! Mary forgot to tell you also..you only have to be in Syracuse for transfer day and if you use DE the retrieval day (your hubby has to be there that day too for his part!) the rest is all done through your GYN at home. I love that part so i only have to travel twice through the whole cycle.. Last edited by milzie; 09-09-2005 at 07:53 AM. |

Milzie:
Thanks lot, this info is very important for me at this point. DH and I have been reviewing diferent clinics, however something that it has been very important factor for us, is that we want to see the pictures of the donor, specially as adults , we are very concern the baby would not look like me or him. Any way, thank you very much and I will check your clinic to find out if they will work with a donor agency with pictures. Thanks

I've been reading your threads and I know that you have gone through a lot!!! I know today is your removal of a cyst, I wish you all the good luck, I had also one removed, and when I had it removed I felt so goood and happy! My cyst was the result of so much medications of my 2 past IVF's cycles of my own eggs. Was your cyst caused as a result of the medications you took for your 2 past cycles ET? Little miracle |

Clinics
[QUOTE=milzie]
LIttle Miracle,I've been going to CNY Fertility Center in Syracuse, NY..they have a good donor program. (i've used 2 donors through them) Mary, Have you had any success there? I used them for my first de attempt and we ended up with a bfn and no frozens. Their stats are dreadfully low! The treatment was way substandard to my treatment and successful cycle with another clinic with high success rates. Yeah, CNY was cheap but if you have to do several cycles, you are better off doing one at a better clinic, in my opinion... Baby blessings, Christine Mom to DS, 5 months old |
