Need a Little Help - Please.

Hello, need some help.

I just wanted to get some opinions from those of you who have been through the Donor Embryo Recipient end.

The RN is sending us 7 profiles to review. Each DE provfile has 5 to 10 five day expanded blasts in them. I know what main things we are looking for are, but now I am starting to get nervous on How to Choose?

I guess I am thinking all of this is way too easy and now that I know the profiles are in the mail and we will be reviewing them in the next few days......I am thinking "hummmm?????" almost like I am missing something.

DH and I have discussed it, and we both are looking for the same basic things. We have decided to look at them separately, we will each pick out two or three, then look at them together and see what we come up with. Did anyone else do this? OR How did you come to a decision?

I know that no one can make this decision for us, I am just nervous now (DH is fine, relaxed and isn't nervous at all). I am probably nervous because I have NO CLUE what to expect and it seems to be moving so fast. My RE has the ET is planned about the first week of October. We are very excited....but I am a bit nervous on this decison process. Just looking for a little bit of help from those who have been there? Thanks in advance.

Well the way we did it with the ED profiles is that I would sometimes wait for DH to come home and we would look at them together and other times I just couldn't wait and would peek. We did look at them separately. So DH would put his choices out of the 10 profiles in order that he liked. If a profile was "out" and he did not like the profile at all it would be face down. I of course would do the same. Sometimes I would pick someone in his "out" pile and ask "Hey why don't you like her?" He would go into much more detail and look at things I never thought about. The we would discuss why we liked who we did. We agreed in the end on which was our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice and would be happy with any of them. No one is perfect, not even us-LOL! That is how we did it.

I looked at the list first, then dh. We had pretty much settled on a few basics, like similar physical characteristics, whether the was a previous pg or not. There really wasn't much info to go on. I am pleasantly surprised that your clinic has so many donor embryos and all at such a great stage for a great chance at a pg. Take your time, read them over several times, either separately or apart. Maybe it might be easier to start with a definate NO pile. Then work with the remainders.

Good luck and I hope this works out very well for you.

well, nevermind. I see in your tag line that you selected last Saturday. Congratulations and good luck.
