How many to put back

Has anyone been provided with any info on how the number of donor egg embryos you put back affects: a) pregnancy rates; and b) the chance of multiples? I'm wondering how putting two back (versus one) increases the chances of pregnancy and how putting two back increases the chances of multiples. Thanks!

I was told by my RE that I have a 50-75% chance of pregnancy if I put in 2 embryos. I believe 2 embryos is pretty standard from reading here on this board. Lately it seems there has been a lot of twin pregnancies with 2 embryos, but I put back two and am pg with a singleton. I for one would not go through a fresh cycle and only put one embryo back if there were more than one to put back. I would feel it too risky of NOT getting pg at all. But you have to consider if you are willing to have twins or not...I was. I don't have exact numbers for your questions. I think it is all up to chance to tell you the truth. Good luck!

Put back as many as you can handle physically, financially, and emotonally and take into account your postiive on selective reduction. WE would never transfer more than 2.

I am trying to decide on how many to put back also. My RE suggested 2 or 3, depending on how they look when they thaw. I have to admit, 3 makes me a bit nervous thinking they all have a chance of taking, but two feels like I am selling myself short. WE would be very happy with one, but would be OK with two also, but 3, it does scare me. He did ask if I was OK with 2, as he gives me a 40% pg rate with each embie put back. I guess that will be a decision I will have to think about, and it might come down to how things are looking on the day of transfer.

Let us know what you decide, I would like to know for my reference also. I know my RE said no more than 3, and he was wavoring on 3....so I am guessing if 2 look really good, that is what we will go with, but if 1 or 2 look good and 1 or 2 look iffy, then he will want to do 3. Good Luck.
