We found a Donor!!! Yiiippppeeeeeee

I just wanted to share Dh's and my fantastic news.

Yesterday we had an appt. with the counsellor at the IVF Clinic. It went well and we were given 5 donor profiles to choose from. Unbeknown to Dh and myself we instinctively had the same reaction to the same donor and had both decided we wanted him while we were still having our appt.!! and without speaking to one another!!...lol Talk about the "right" person for the job.

Dh and I had spent the last month agonising how "long" it would take us to find a donor and we had figured we may need to start tx in Nov-Dec, because we guessed that it would take roughly 2 months to "feel comfortable" with our choice, NOT 2 MINUTES!!!!!!

So I guess now we may be able to start tx in Sept-Oct instead and we are so excited. I was saying to Dh today that it's funny b/c most people in the real world would think that picking their child's biological; father from A4 profiles would be disturbing, (but I guess it's not a choice for all of us with IF issues) and we couldnt be more proud and exited by our choice.

We couldn't have asked for a more "perfect" profile, and it's written as we would have written Dh's profile if he were a donor!!!! So we are taking this as a sign that we are on the right track and this is all going to work out fine in the end.

We wish everyone success and all their heart desires.

Hi Vicky,

Congratulations!!!! It must feel so good to have found a donor. (We're still looking...I think we'll be on that 2 month plan you mentioned...or maybe even 3 or 4). And to find someone so similar to dh--Wow, you must be sooo excited!!!! Best of luck to you during this cycle. Keep us posted.

Julie I know you will find the right donor and I'm sure than when you do you will feel how Dh and I feel- you will just know in your , so be guided by that it wont lead you astray, and Bonnie we will MOST DEFINITELY keep the bb's posted with our news. You guys dont know how much you all mean to Dh and I

It is such a relief to have found our donor and I cant believe how excited we are to be looking forward to starting out treatment. We're thinking, however will know more next week, that we may be starting DI/IUI in Sept-Oct now instead of Nov-Dec. Wooooohooooo

Once again Dh and I wanted to say the BIGGEST THANKYOU in the world to you all for you kind words and encourangemt, because without you all we could not have come this far. So from the bottom of both our thankyou.

Wishing you all the success in the world

How exciting that you've found a donor & so quickly! You know it's got to be the right choice since without discussing it, you both chose the same one!!

Vicki.....

This is GREAT news. We just got finished selecting our Donor Embryo and surprisingly enough, it didn't take us long at all. We never imagined that we were able to decide while driving in the car, DH reading the profiles to be and sitting in Walmart's parking lot going "yep, that the one, it's perfect". Haven't given it a second thought. I didn't know what I was expceting, and saw ourselves pondering over these profiles for days upon days upon days......but when it's right....it's right and sometimes your "gut" is the part that just tell you. Glad your decision wasn't a hard one either. Good luck. Looks like we will be cycling at the same time.

Girls, and thanks for all the warm wishes.

Blsed; we might be "going at it" together because I think we'll have the first iui done in Oct. Dont know when for sure as we have our appt on the 27/9.

But will certainly keep you all posted, and BC-will definately let you know when I know.

Once again thanks to you all for your wonderful words of encouragement and support.

I'd be lost without you all.
