1st positive! wanted to share.
Hi everyone,
Can't believe it, I'm pregnant! my beta was 113. Nurse says that's a good #. I asked if she thought that was any indication of twins, she said, she didn't know. Any thoughts on the higher the number, the greater chances of twins? Still having mixed emotions, at times I'm so excited, other times lots of anxiety about de/ds... But, there is no turning back now. I'm really working hard on relaxing, trying not to control, and let it all be in God's hands. Thanks again for all your responses and input. gaylemae

Congrats Gaylemae! I'm so happy for you! Your number is pretty strong but if I had to guess I would say it's a singleton. But you never know. When is your 2nd beta?
Although, I know that there are a lot of unknowns in the future this is a great time to enjoy your little one growing inside of you. No matter how it was conceived it will always be 100% yours! I really think if you don't emphasize that this child is "different" than your bio child neither of the children will even care. Last edited by 50/50; 08-12-2005 at 10:55 AM. |

Congratulations!!!
Hi Gaylemae,
C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S ![]() Sorry I can't comment on your beta as I've never made it past 6 wks. myself but, it sounds like a good strong number. I just wanted to say CONGRATS I'm dancing over here I'm so happy for you!! I know your nervous about de/ds -- We will be trying ds soon but, who knows where we'll end up.-- What's important is that the child/ren know(s) that he/she is very much wanted and loved! Wishing you doubling numbers. For now, just try to relax and enjoy being pregnant!Julie |

Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You did it!!!!!!!! You really did it!!!!!! Congrats!!!!!! When's your follow-up beta? Really, there's no way to tell 1 or 2 until you have an u/s. If your beta is equiv to 11dp3dt, my guess would be 1. However if it's 113 at 8 or 9dp3dt then I'd vote for 2. It's hard to say. I have twins and my betas were 284 at 10dp5dt and then skyrocketed to 899 at 12dp5dt. How fast it rises could be an indication.
The bottom line is you're PG and it's a great beta!!!! Relax & enjoy. Wishing you an uneventful pregnancy.

Gaylemae, Just wanted to say Congratulations! And as far as numbers indicating how many when I had my beta in '96 at 12dp3dt it was 78.... I had twins ! I just asked my RE at my consult last week for our FET next month if beta #'s can tell you how many she said NO WAY. she has seen women with 99 have triplets and in the 300's with only 1. Anyway best of luck your
with your baby now. ENJOY.Bonnie |

Congratulations!! That's wonderful news!!!
One thing you'll very, very, VERY rarely see me do, is guess on how many are in there based on beta's numbers. You can not tell by them. I recently saw someone with a beta of almost 800 at 14dp3dt, yet there was only one baby in there. From my own personal experience too, I can say that you can't tell. My 3rd cycle, my beta's were almost identical (only off by a few points) to my 2nd cycle, which we knew started as twins, yet my 3rd cycle was only a singleton. Also, my numbers in my 3rd cycle were almost quadrupling instead of the doubling they should've been doing. The moral....you just can't tell until you have your u/s!! Good luck with your next beta!! I'm sure it will be wonderful!! ![]() ![]() Karen
