Follistim issue?

Hi -

I am an egg donor. I started stims last week, and tomorrow is the first monitoring appointment. Please keep your fingers crossed that the eggs are developing well.

I know it's been asked before, but I need reassurance. I am 225 of Follistim. I had 150 left in the cartridge, and expected to have to change it in the middle of the injection. However, the plunger went down all the way, so I *think* I got the full dose. Could there really have been that much extra in the cartridge? Do you think I got the full dose? Should I call the nurse? Help!

I am SO afraid something is going to go wrong - that I'm going to screw this up for the woman who is supposed to get my eggs. I've been reading this board and a few blogs about infertility, and now all I can think about is how upsetting it would be for her if the cycle got cancelled. I didn't get fully suppressed, so I'm worried I'll ovulate too soon. I'm so worried!

I'm not really sure, but I'd ask the RE's office in the morning when you go in for your b/w & u/s. I hope everything goes really well for you! You're such a wonderful person for doing something so amazing!!!!

I think a little less or a little extra is not gonna make a bit of difference. Just my opinion. Good luck. You can mention it to the Dr. so IF he thinks it would and he wants to up your dose for the next time, the he could. But I wouldn't worry. I've been through 8 IVF's and my doses were tweaked up and down to get the best outcome!
