Question All IP's --Total Cost of ED cycle.....?

I was wondering how much all this cost the IP's? For everything? Medication(for ED and IM), average cost for IVF with a doctor (local to the donor vs not local to the donor?) Any any other related cost....I never knew and with all the ED cycles I have done I am blown away at the 'average' cost for IP's. Just trying to get an idea.... I was just pondering the idea of spending upwards of $50,000 on misc fertility treatment and was in total disbelief.
Thanks,

Michelle

My DE cycle was over $30K. My donor was somewhat local...but in a diff county so she cycled closer to her home so there was an additional chge for the coordination of that from my agency. I did also have to pay for hotel stay when she had her retreival in my county as well as mileage. It's a lot of money but well worth it...especially when it works!

Good luck on your Sept cycle!!!

Prices do vary and those that use a donor from their RE's donor pool save some on their donor fee plus do not have to pay an agency fee. $15K is about how much I spent on one ivf cycle with my own eggs, prob a little more.

We paid $18k. We used our clinic's donor pool which is WAY cheaper than going with an agency. I also believe my clinic's fees are lower than the norm because this is a brand new program for them. As it was, we were couple #4 to go through their ED program. I was also lucky in that my meds were covered by insurance and I just had to pay the copays. I think going with an agency adds a $10-20k because of their fees plus they are likely to pay their donors more.

Oh - and I'm pg with twins and it was worth every penny!!!!

I paid $20K. $8,000 for the IVF cycle, $9,000 to the donor agency which includes $5,000 for the donor. $500 to a lawyer, and about $2,000 in meds for both of us. But it worked!

Mine was $5300 for a split cycle (including donor fee) plus my meds and our travel expenses. Pretty good deal I say.
