Hi Ladies! After much time off, we're back in again....

I think I've been on most boards here: Gen IF, IF over 35, adoption boards, adoption nursing boards, IVF/ICSI, DI with IUI - Now we're doing DI with known donor (ICI). After over 15 yrs of trying (off and on - or they'd have locked me away long ago!), I feel like this is the end of our journey. We have no sperm, eggs seem fine, I was even an egg donor a few yrs back. Can't possibly go thru another adoption - while it happens for most, it doesn'for us. And if I had a nickel for every time I heard ("thats terrible! I would never do that to a couple"), we could go another IVF round.

Seems like I know enuf to become an RE. Except the silly stuff that we skipped right over. Like the Robitusssin DM and baby ASA. Bought these things, need to know when to take them.

My cycle will start hopefully in about a week (I'd be more excited right here if I wasn't so darned tired!! This round I willl not take Clomid (I ovulate without it, but I usually take it for assurrance), but my cycles are sooooo long (ovulating on like day 23, 24, 25), we decided to see if this works. When I don't do Clomid and we're not trying, it's on about day 12,13,14.

So, the baby ASA and the DM (it IS DM right??): When do I start taking these?? I've heard the DM thins your cm even more so the swimmers can get there faster - no clue what the aspirin is for, just heard it's good (anyone explain??)

Thanks soooo much!! I'll keep updates!! PS: I truly thought that there would be no way that I could do known donor, only banked. My husband and I feel so ""Right" about this. He's a friend of my husbands who volunteered. The only thing left before all is finalized is our trip to our lawyers office for the 3 of us to sign the contract. I feel so good about this. So does my husband.

Any help on the DM and aspirin, love to hear it!!! Love to all and baby blessings to all!

(hope in a few months - the top is not sticking onto my rubbermaid comtainer full of maternity clothes!)

I would check with your RE about the BA & Robitussin. Some RE's will say it's ok, others will say no way. Check with him/her first.

Good luck to you on this cycle. It's been a mighty long road for you & it's about time to end the sadness & pain & bring the joy that you've been looking for!!

Karen
