Should I be worried?
Okay so the clinic just called. They are upping my estrace a little and told me my e2 is 146. I said that sounds low and she said "yes, we like it at 300". I have to go back on Monday for morning clinic. So what's the deal with the estrogen levels? I thought the purpose of estrace was just to fatten my lining .. so why does my e2 level really matter? Now I'm getting nervous that my body isn't really doing what it should be. Help me please!!!!!!!

I am of no help either as to why it has to be a certain level. All I know is that they increased mine from 2 miligrams to 6 miligrams per day and that did the trick. Hopefully, it will be where they want it to be on Monday. Keep us posted.

Well I found out from another board that they like your estrogen higher because it's needed to help support a pregnancy (just like progesterone). I'm still waiting to hear from the EDC if this changes our schedule.
Laenae - my lining is good (9 with a triple layer) just my e2 is low Did they change your med because your lining wasn't thick enough or because your e2 was low or both? Do you remember what your numbers were? I was already on 4mg/day. They have only upped it by 2mg. I guess I'm worried that won't be enough of an increase to get my e2 to where they want it. Tapping my fingers on the desk waiting for my EDC to get back to me

Ellen,
I'm sure you'll be fine but the worst case scenario is still not bad. It's not like your cycle will get cancelled. You can freeze your embies and transfer them later. DEFET's aren't such a bad deal if you ask me! Good Luck!

Estrace Dose
I've been reading some of the posts here trying to figure out where I fit in. We are doing DE and the retrieval is scheduled for June 10th. We've had 2 ectopics in the last 3 years and I have a high FSH which is why we decided to go straight to DE, not to mention the financial aspects. I've also had several surgeries for ovarian cysts the last being in Aug 04 during which I had one ovary removed. After my ovary was removed I knew my chances were even slimmer since my FSH was already high. In any event, I had my day 5 blood test on tuesday (May 31) and the nurse called and upped my estrace dose from 6mg a day to 8mg. She didn't give me any numbers though nor did I ask. Maybe I should ask, but not sure I want to know. I do, but I don't want to be stressed out. When she upped the dose I did some searching on the internet and found a site where it said during a donor egg cycle the recipient will take estrace in increasing doses as the transfer gets closer so I assumed the increase was normal. Now I'm wondering if I should ask about my numbers. I have a day 9 E9 blood test and ultrasound on Sat. Transfer is scheduled for June 13th or 15th. Has anyone else taken as much estrace as I'm taking. They also have given us zero info on donor progress except that everything looks good. Maybe it's still to early, but you would think with the retrieval being next friday that they would have some info. What do you think. We have alot of money invested in this as I'm sure everyone here does. Should I expect more info then what they are giving me??? ugh.... I'm 38 by the way and husband is 41. Can someone define some of the acronyms for me that are being used. Guess I'm stupid as I have no clue what some of them mean. I guess DH is dear husband. 2ww is 2 week wait. some of the other ones I have no clue.

Sanddollar - Thanks for your #. I'm definately a #s person
I also wanted to thank you for your generosity to other couples with your previous egg donations! You did a wonderful thing!!!Flicka - I would hope it wouldn't get that far. My donor hasn't started stims yet but I believe she was scheduled to start either tomorrow or Sat. You and Amyleigh give me a lot of hope if a FET was necessary but I hope we're lucky first time around. Besides, dh will absolutely kill me if I go back and tell him we need even more money ![]() Firefly2 - I'm guessing you're working with an anonymous donor too? Ahhhh .. the "everything looks good" comment is enough to drive us all mad. Unfortunately the limited info you're getting is VERY common I don't know if it's HIPPA driven or what. When I asked my RE about it he said we probably wouldn't get any real updates until retrieval He said it would just cause unnecessary stress! Drats. This is my ED's 2nd donation and I know she did well with her first. So believe it or not, I'm not really worried about how she'll do - I'm confident she'll do well again. Having said that - I still want #s!!! I'm really sorry if my thread caused you to worry too. I have a thread on the FET board too and one person (thank you Somedaymommy) saying that her clinic doesn't even do e2's on a fet (which is similar protocol to a fresh donor egg cycle for the recipient). I'm really not as worried about it all now. I just like to understand what my body is supposed to be doing and why it's important. Good luck with your transfer next week. Our estimated retrieval is 6/15 with transfer 3 days later. Will you be doing a 3day or 5 day transfer?50/50 - Still waiting I never got an e-mail back so I called her this morning and got voice-mail So of course I left her a message and asked her to call me. Hopefully I'll hear something soon. Thanks again everyone.
