For DI/DE parents interested in finding half-sibs and/or your donor...

There have been over 800 matches made with this free registry! You can also look at the registry w/o registering your child(ren), to see if anyone has registered using the same donor. It's up to individuals whether they want to email or contact others.

The group is for people who have used donor sperm or donor eggs, who want to find half-siblings and/or their anonymous donors. There is also some discussion at the board; there is a sister board for the group where more intense discussions can take place.

It's interesting to see how many kids some of these donors have produced! Sometimes there are 7 or 8 families involved with more than one kid in some families, and those are just the people who actually came and registered at this board. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

So far I, myself, have only found one family who used the same donor, but the wife had a miscarriage and changed to a different donor. (I miscarried with CCB Donor 439, too, but cont'd to use him anyway, and then had my son Nate.)

By the way, there is also a message board there. People come in to talk about DI and DE...some are actual sperm donors, or wives of men who donated, DI-conceived teens and adults, and of course, moms who used DS/DE.

I am a member of this registry as well, and have come in contact with a mom of a little girl. She had used the same DS. It has been wonderful sharing our experiences. I am due in January and her little girl just turned one. I recommend it, even if you don't get in contact, it's interesting to see if there's other little one's out there.

There are over 900 sibling matches now, and some matches with donors, too.

Sometimes that happens if the parent hasn't decided whether or not to be open with the child about the DI. Wendy, who owns the group, said a mom saw her on Oprah and emailed that she had twin girls with the same donor, but she wasn't going to tell them about the donor OR their half-brother (Ryan, Wendy's son). That was a big disappointment for Ryan.
