will body except donor egg with different RH factor

Does anyone know how important the RH factor is. I found out today that the couple that I am doing a shared cycle with is RH+ I am donating half my eggs to them. I am RH-. The intended mother is worried that her body will not accept RH- eggs.

There is no reason to believe that RH factor impacts getting pg.

I had the opposite situation. I am RH-, and our donor was RH+. I got pg. with a singleton and had no complications during pregnancy.

As the others have said, RH factor isn't a big issue for you. Our donor coordinator didn't ever ask what my blood type was before sending us profiles.

Good luck to you both!!

I am AB- and was given Rhogam after my threatened m/c and subsequent D & C. So they told me I am RH-. I am not really sure what it all means but the Rhogham after a m/c is supposed to help with future pregnancies. We have used a surrogate and it was 2 years before she conceived with our embryos. She got pg the 1st time but m/c and it was many transfers later that DS was born. I don't know if it impacts things or not. I do know that blood type does not matter when a couple is using a surrogate... ie. DH nor I did not have to be the same blood type as the SM.

I thought this thread was really interesting and I happened to run across a section in a pregnancy book regarding this. Here it is word for word:

Your rhesus status is vitally important during pregnancy because if your baby is rh + and you're rh -, you can form antiboides to your baby's red blood cells, which will destroy the blood cells of your next rh+ baby. This puts the baby at risk of developing a serious form of anemia, called Rhesus disease.

This was taken from "the Pregnancy Bible". It does state that cuz of modern treatment this disease is really quite rare and that RH- mothers are regularly given an injection of RH immuno-globulin at 28 and 34 weeks and after delivery.

preg ment, m/c ment

I'm RH negative and my donor is A +. The doctor says that I have nothing to worry about because after my m/c a couple of years ago, I had the rhogam shot within the 48 hour time frame. I do have to get another one at week 28, but I'm now 14w4d and everything is fine. Good luck!
