Laenae-read your post on the other board and it sounds like things are moving right along. Are they doing all of this testing for Down's and nuchal tube due to your age or previous mc with your last IVF? If they know about your use of DE, are you still at risk for down's or a tube defect? I thought it had to do with the age of the egg, which then creates the embryo, and NOT due to a woman's age. Can you educate me? Thanks....hope all continues to go well for you. Saying prayers!

Hi Deeja - Thanks for your support. I am not really sure why they would do these tests considering I used donor egg and that the donor is young. My guess would be that even though the donor is young that does not necessarily rule out that a child will not have DS or some other birth defect. They probably do them to give you enough information to make the choice of whether to do CVS or Amnio. I may be wrong, but I think that may be it.

Where are you in terms of your cycle?

Laenae-still waiting to go to our IVF orientation on 6/15. Our ED has an appt w/our RE by the end of this month. Should know by next week if she "passes" the test in my RE's eyes and then away we go!

Deeja - Please let us know if your donor measures up in your RE's eyes. I look forward to your update. Hope you had a good, long Memorial Day weekend.
