I can not decide whether to go to work tomorrow or not......
I have a desk job and could set back and not do anything but work on my computer if necessary. I would like some opinions from all of you. My transfer was 24 hours ago and I did do bed rest for that period. I want to take off work the day of the pregancy test as I don't think I would get much accomplished anyway. Everyone @ work thinks I am off tomorrow but I have so much that I could do and I feel really good....main concern it to do nothing that may disrupt my embies from making their new home. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thanks Gayle My clinic pretty much said 24 hours is good....but, I have seen posts that is should be 48? I get so confused.....

I'm interested in seeing what other people reply to this question. My RE is one of those that don't believe in bed rest. He has you lay there for 10 minutes after a transfer and that's it. He is of the belief that bedrest has no impact on the success of implantation. In fact, he even says you can return to a desk job following the transfer! I plan to try and follow strict bedrest for 24 hours following the transfer, then just take it easy for the next day or so. If you think about it, you did a 5dt which means the embies will implant within 24-48 hrs of transfer (in most cases). So personally, I don't think what you do tomorrow is going to make much of a difference. If you have a lot to do at work and would be more stressed by not going in .. then I'd say go to the office and just do computer work stuff. BUT .. avoid stress at all costs!!!
Good luck to you. Be sure to keep us posted. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of progesterone support are you taking? What form of estrogen are you taking? I'm just curious.

Hi Ellen,
I am on proj & oil injection 1ml every evening and every third night injection of 2cc's of delestrogen. I think I am going to stay home one more day...I will probably do little stuff around the house...but then I know my 24-48 hours will be done and I did my best to relax! Thanx for your post. Gayle |

My RE only had me taking it easy for two days. I did do bedrest the day of transfer and was in and out of bed on the 2nd day. However, I was going up and down the stairs on day 2 too. One of my friends who is seeing the same RE as I , said that he told her that bed rest can actual create blood clots. Sitting up was what he suggested to her.
Personally if it were me I would stay home one more day but I think as long as you are not running a marathon you are safe to go back to work. ![]() Good luck to you! |

Gayle - My doctor's office said to take it easy the first day. I had my transfer on a Saturday afternoon and put myself on strict bedrest for 2 1/2 days. As I invested so much in my cycle, I figured it was the least I could do. I don't know if it did have any bearing on my becoming pregnant for sure, but somehow I don't think it hurt.

I decided to stay home!
There is too much invested financially and emotionally to push it I think. And I will hide in my office the rest of the week and take it easy too. It will be a long 2ww waiting period. |

Gayle - I think you are doing the right thing. Take it easy today and do not do much. Rest all day if you can. I think implantation usually occurs 2-3 days after transfer. So resting would be optimum now. Good luck.
