confused and worried

Ok here's may problem. Remember I had been matched with a donor in April, but the way the timing was going to happen EVERYTHING was going to fall on top of a HUGE convention that I just happen to be chairperson of. Well I had talked to the DE coordinator about it and she said we would hold off donor starting bcp and she would let me know when I was to start estrace etc. well I haven't heard anything so last friday I called had to leave a message because both DE coordinators had the day off. At 6:30 LAST NIGHT she called back "whats up"she asked I reminded her of our last discussion and she looked up my donor and said "oh she started bcps on 4/29 you are taking estrace now right" NO I was waiting like I was told. She quickly said she would figure it out and get my schedule by e-mail to me last night. Well so far nothing yet. I called this AM and left a voice message because nobody answered at 8:30 (busy i guess). Still no call or e-mail. Now I'm nervous, we have paid already and if this is messed up I will be a wreck. Any suggestion? Am I just being to anxious or what? This stuff is stressful enough without anything being added.I was so relieved when they said we could hold off before but what now. Will my donor starting bcps mess everything up? It's all confusing to me because I have no cycle( dx. POF) and they always talk about all these meds for the donor.
Sorry to be so long.
Bonnie

Hi Bonnie,

Sorry to hear about all the troubles you are going through. Sounds like your clinic screwed up big time if the donor has already started on bcps and they thought you were on estrace. They should have it documented that they were to hold off with the cycle since you plan on being at the convention. When your coordinator thought you were on estrace, it shows they don't have their act together. I would keep calling them until you get someone to talk to. I hope they can fix this. If not, I do not think you should be liable for any more $$$ seeing that they messed up to begin with. Please update us when you hear from the clinic.

Bonnie- sorry to hear of the mess up, but I would think your donor could just continue the bcps until you are caught up with your estrace? My donor screwed up on bcps and stopped before she was suppose to and my RE had to make a few chges to the protocol and we all just crossed our fingers..it worked. Hopefully they can manipulate the protocol slightly to workout fine. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. Keep us posted.

I know how frustrating and stressful this is for you right now. Breathe in, breathe out (repeat). This really should not be a problem at all! The donor can just continue taking the bcp as long as it is that you needed to delay the cycle. The only way I think this situation would be a problem is if the donor had already started her stims. I'm so sorry the clinic screwed up and that they haven't gotten back to you. Hang in there. I've got my fingers crossed that you get your calendar very soon and that they call and talk to you to help put your mind at ease.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement and kind words. I am so glad your always here.I am sorry about the meltdown there is just alot going on right now. Good news, I finally was able to speak to someone at the RE's late this afternoon. I called like 4 times first. Get this the nurse I spoke with said that I am to start estrace today.I asked how I was supposed to know this and she said well the schedule went out today'' Again I asked how was I supposed to know to start if the schedule just was mailed today. Geesh!
She then replied " Oh I guess she (nurse # 1 ) Thought she called you back already." DUH NO. Anyway we are all set I have my instructions and barring any complications we will do transfer after July 1. Wow!!!! I almost can't believe it.
I had to apoligize to the nurse today for being so spastic, although I really don't feel it was entirely all my fault.
Thanks again
Bonnie

maybe not the best of communication on the clinic's part but if the donor is on BCP's that can be done for more than the usual 28 days... you could even take BCP's for 14 days and stop and it would bring on AF! BCP's can manipulate things if necessary so don't worry as long as she is on BCP's you could start whatever you need whenever. The BCP's are putting her in a holding pattern.

Oh honey, trust me, YOU didn't do anything wrong & should NOT have apologized to them!! They obviously had a HORRIBLE lack of communication & they could've screwed everything up!!

At least you've started your stuff & things should be going fine now. I would make sure to keep calling them to verify that they're doing what they're supposed to do though, because obviously they don't communicate very well. I would also bring this screw up to your RE's attention!! That really is unacceptable!!

Since you have POF & don't get AF, you're a piece of cake for them to work with!! I can't wait to see more updates!!!
