50/50 - Any update?

I think last night was your donor's 5th of stims, right? Is she going for an u/s today? If so - will they be giving you information or do you just have to wait for the retrieval? I've already been told they won't really give me any details because it would only cause me to stress more I'm wondering if the amount of information you get when you use an agency is different?

I think I recall the estimated retrieval was the 25th for you, right? Will you be doing a 3day or a 5 day transfer?

Wishing you tons of luck.

Ellen

Hi Ellen!

Thanks for asking about my progress. I went in yesterday for blood work and my E2 level is where it should be. Yes, my tentative retrieval is set for the 25th. My donor went in on Monday and I was told that her levels looked great and that they can tell that she has been taking her meds.

They told me they would call me in a few days (prob by the end of the week) regarding her u/s. Yes last night was my donor's 5th day of stims. I'll be doing a 3 day transfer. By day 7/8 they sched an u/s. I'm soooo on pins and needles waiting to hear how many follicles she has developed. My RE told me yesterday that he thinks I have a "good one". I hope that means a lot of quality eggs? They also said they would prob call me over the weekend and have me come in again for more blood work. I guess they need to see me the day before retrieval. I'm getting really excited about this!

My agency has basically dropped out of the picture. But my RE/nurse keeps me well informed so I'm happy about that.

Did you hear back about your donor's schedule? I hope that worked out for you!

Wow, sure sounds promising I'm praying for lots of quality eggs for you!!! That's great that your e2 is where it should be. Are you taking estrace, patches or delestrogen? I'm really excited for you. Just think, transfer is just a week away!!! I can't wait to hear her retrieval report and then of course your transfer report! Are you doing anything special to keep your stress/anxiety at a minimum? I am doing acupuncture and he just started showing me how to meditate. Hopefully I'm able to "figure it out" over the next couple visits. I'm already a basket case and we haven't even started

Thanks for asking about my donor. As it turns out she's not expecting AF for another 11/2-2 weeks I was told I'd get my schedule at that time. I really don't know the process but I'm thinking we'd be looking at a retrieval around 6/6 and a transfer 3 or 5 days after that. I'll be sure to update when I learn more.

Keep the info coming!!!

Ellen

Thanks! I'm on patches and still on low dosage of lupron. How funny... I've been doing acupuncture and meditating every morning for about a year now. It's a great stress reliever! I use these CD's for my meditation cuz I had a hard time doing it on my own. haha...my mind still wanders at times. How do you like it?

I know it seems like this process takes forever but the 1.5-2 weeks will fly by before you know it! I can't believe I'm finally at this stage...yep retrieval next week...can't get over it! I could be PG in a few weeks!

Does your RE do both 3 days and 5 days? Mine prefers 3 days...so do I. I just don't want to take any chances losing any of them.

How frequently are you doing acupuncture? I started about 5 or 6 weeks ago and have been going 1x/week. I don't know the specifics but I think I'll have to go more when he sees the schedule. That's great that you have a meditation cd. I don't think I have the discipline to do it on my own. So far I really like going to acupuncture. I only wish there was a way to know for sure it really is helping with my lining & stuff. I am pretty relaxed during my session, although my mind still wanders. He said meditation is a practice and takes some time to learn. I just hope I'm a fast learner. He and my RE go on & on about how stress is bad and that it produces bad chemicals in the body that could inhibit implantation, etc. So I'm going to try my best.

I know the time will fly by, I've just been waiting for so long I'm ready to get going NOW.

My clinic does mostly 3 days. Which is what I prefer too!!!! Although the RE did say that donor egg usually offers a perfect opportunity to go to 5 days. He said that discussion usually takes place on the 3rd day. I'm pretty sure no matter how good these eggs/embryos are that I'll want a 3 day transfer.

I was going 1x week for acupunture at the beginning but after my last failed ivf with my own eggs, my acupunturist said I only needed to come in every other week for donor eggs. However, now that I am in cycle I am going 2x a week...just to make sure my lining is thickening. And I'll go in an hour or so before transfer and the 3rd or 4th day after transfer. I think acupuncture really does work cuz my lining has never been so thick prior to starting. My periods are also very bright red with minimal clotting (sorry), they also are very short and light compared to before.

I feel the same way about the 3 day transfer...I don't want to do blast even if there are 80 of them and perfect. HA!

I'll keep you posted, plse keep us posted on your journey as well!

50/50. Sounds like the cycle is moving along well. I hope your donor has lots of eggies for you. Retrieval and transfer is right around the corner and I hope you will be on your way to a BFP! Keep us posted!
