    Beta is in...........OMG BFP !!!!!!!

I went in for my beta this morning and the nurse that took my blood said she had a good feeling about me and she thought I would be back in two days for a second beta. I told her that I don’t want to hold out too much hope because I would hate to be disappointed. Well folks, you can about lift me and peel me up from the floor because I am in shock. I had my transfer on March 12, so I guess I consider today as 9dp5dt? My beta is in and it is a BFP 100! I go in on Wednesday for another beta. They might give me my first U/S on Friday before I head down to the sunshine state for 2 weeks of R&R. The nurse coordinator said she would let me know. Before I had the transfer, she thought I had it in the bag for this cycle and she was right! Her prediction came true. I was trying to be positive but did not want to be too positive.

I am scared about celebrating too early because of all my disappointments in the past and my miscarriage after my 4th IVF. DH and I are going to keep it a secret until we know we are out of the woods. I can’t wait to find out my EDT but assume it is sometime in November. I don’t know how they calculate due dates after a IVF either by (LMP or date of Retrieval – maybe you ladies can shed some light.) My LMP was 2/14. Retrieval was 3/7 and transfer on 3/12. God willing this pregnancy will make it.

All I can say is what a great Christmas present for me, DH and our daughter! She will now have a sibling and our family will be complete.

Thank you everyone so very much for your support. You are all so supportive and it means so much to me. I would like to hang out here for a while if you ladies don’t mind. I want to cheer you on as you have cheered me on. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

    Laenae,

    Congratulations........and a great beta number.....celebrate woman....you are pregnant.

I am looking forward to hearing your second beta and any news from the u/s.....though it is very early.

Take care of yourself when you travel, and be sure to ask if there are any restrictions.....my RE was very conservative.

I can just hear your excitement and I am so excited for you.

    Hugs,
    Margaret Anne

100 is really GREAT!!! Definitely pregnant 9 days later!!! WONDERFUL NEWS!!! How many did you transfer?

Oh, I just posted on 2 other BB's how you figure EDD (estimated due date) when you have done IVF!!! Funny thing the counselor used the retrieval date (she is experienced many years with the agency and has been through treatment herself and now has twins) and the RE (again very experienced) initially used the retrieval date as well. So we had an EDD of August 31. Then the RE switched and used the transfer date to figure the EDD and the OB is now using the new EDD which would be September 3rd.

Ok, so if you used retrieval date you are 2 weeks pregnant on retrieval date. If you use transfer date you are 2 weeks pregnant on the transfer day. Doesn't really matter because babies never come on their due date!

For DS his due date was figured from the day of the 3 day transfer and he was induced at 38 weeks. (it was important to know what the weeks was because if induced any sooner you would be increasing your risk of lung immaturity) So I think I would go by transfer date.
