New Here

Hi!
I'm new to this bulliten board and just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Shannon and I was diagnosed with POF when I was 21. I am 33 now. My husband and I started ED IVF in 2001. We had 3 unsuccessful cycles and a VERY successful one with my 4th. We were blessed with a son on November 4th 2003. (on the same day of my donors son's b-day~VERY WEIRD) We have decided we wanted to try for a 2nd and were happy to hear that our donor was willing to donate again! SO we are off.............she went in on Monday for the retrieval on Monday. Things seem to be going well.................I find out today when I go in tomorrow. Very Exciting and VERY nerve racking!

Anyway, I wish everyone lots of luck with their journey to motherhood!!

Shannon

P.S. I'm also looking for any gift ideas to give to my donor. THANKS

Welcome aboard Shannon!! I was officially dx with POF when I was 22, but had tests been done sooner, they would've found it around age 17. We too were blessed by a wonderful anonymous donor & then she again was willing to donate for us for a 2nd attempt! I'm a little older than you. BTW, your ds's birthday is 10 days before my 2nd DD's birthday!

Anyway, welcome aboard!! Good luck with your transfer!! I can't wait to see when your transfer is & how it goes!!

Karen

Welcome I just finished a DE IVF cycle myself. I know what you mean, it is exciting and nerve racking at the same time. I too have POF and was dx a little over a year ago at 24. Congrats on your donor! It is difficult to find a present for someone who is giving you something so huge. It's a lot of pressure! DH and I really studied her pictures to see what type of things she liked. We saw that she had a preference for Tiffany's jewelry. We ended up getting her the Eternal Circle - which I though was fitting to show our gratitude for her gift and how she would always be a part of our lives. You probably already know her pretty well so just go with whatever feels best. Again congrats and best of luck on your journey! Keep us posted
