Fert. Results and Update!

Thanks everyone for all their concern and support.

Well folks, I just got home and it killed me all day to have to wait to receive my e-mail from the clinic. I thought they would leave a voicemail message, but they left an email instead. I can't access my e-mail at work. I could have called the clinic, but a part of me was scared to find out the results so I figured I would just wait.

The results are in....... 25 eggs were retrieved and 19, count them 19, fertilized!!!!!!!! Yippee!!! They must have had the donor on a conservative protocol at my clinic, because in her other donations at other various clinics, she always had between 30-45 eggs. I am her 5th donation! I am really happy with the results though and hope at least one of those little sweet and adorable embies will decide they want me as their Mommy and to make themselves a cozy and warm home for the next 9 months!

I did let the Clinic know what happened with respect to my running into the donor on the elevator and the incident with us sitting eyeball to eyeball with the donor's husband all alone in the waiting room. The nurse coordinator apologized profusely and said she would investigate. She said it was generally not the practice for the wife to accompany the husband to the floor where the DH was giving his semen sample and that the times should have been spaced out so that the situation that took place with us should never have happened. My nurse coordinator was not the one to leave me my final instructions concerning retrieval day over this past weekend. The person that left me my final instructions should have told me to stay on the 10th floor of the clinic and not go down to the 9th floor where my DH was supposed to go.

In any event, I will not know until Thursday morning as to whether the transfer will occur Thursday afternoon or Saturday afternoon. So, the plan is to go into work on Thursday morning and play it by ear. The nurse coordinator thought it would be Saturday, but we will see. She was happy with the fert. results.

I will keep you all posted. Please pray for me.

Thanks everyone for asking and caring.

Love,

Laenae

Laenae, Thats a fantastic fertilization report! Congratulations, now lets keep those embies dividing.I have a positive feeling about this for you. Sounds like you definately picked a good donor I only hope I have the same luck when I get my turn.
I don't think its unusual to accompany DH ,I always have. It makes me feel like I'm part" of the whole process. I had a real hard time with our first cycle, I was really not accepting the idea of it not being my eggs DH was fertilizing so the nurses suggested I be with him.

I'll keep you in my prayers

Thanks Ladies....

I am really excited. I hope it is meant to be and I will finally be on my way to complete my family. It has been a long 5 years since my second bout with IF and to have a success at the end of it, would be the greatest gift that I could ever receive.

I will keep you all posted once I know about the transfer date.

Thanks again.

Love,
Laenae

Woohoo!!!! That's an incredible fert report. Wow, what an awesome producer your donor is. I hope I do as well picking a donor. Unfortunately all donors in our clinic's pool are first-timers so it's difficult to get a feeling for how they'll do.

You seem so calm about it. I could never go to work on Thursday with the possibility of transferring that day. You are an amazing woman!

Congrats and can't wait to hear your transfer update.

Ellen

Awesome!!! Almost identical to the results we had that produced our little Miss Lauren (24 retrieved, 18 fert). Congratulations!

I'm new here but just wanted to let you know that i too am having my transfer this thursday or friday. Did you get the donor anything for doing this? This is my 2nd time with this donor and I feel I should do something. If you have any ideas i would appreciate it.

Good Luck with your transfer...................I will keep my fingers crossed!

Since you got 22 eggs and 19 fertilized, your QUANTITY is GREAT!!! With those numbers many RE's would freeze some embryos on day 3 (Thursday) and then surely some will go to blastocyst stage (Saturday) and transfer 2 blasts at most.

I am so excited for you!!! This is the best news anyone could hope for!!! I am betting you will have FROZEN!!! We transferred 2 embryos on day 3 and froze the remaining 8 on day 3 as well. (We had 12 embryos from our egg donor)

I think you have ALL you need for your WHOLE family!!!
