Snowflakes does embryo adoptions. You have to go through the adoption process just like a traditional adoption and then the donor goes through profiles to choose who she/they want their embryos to go to. I think you are guaranteed 6 embryos so you might get them from more than 1 donor. The fees are higher than if you would go through a clinic because you pay for the homestudy and some other fees. You also know who the donors are with embryo adoption rather than being anonymous through a clinic. Bethany Adoption Services is also going to start doing embryo adoptions, but I'm not sure if they are doing it yet, you could contact them to find out.

I can't say too many good things about my experience with donor embryos. I was using donor sperm for IVF with my eggs and the R.E. recommended donor egg, which made no sense to me and seemed very expensive....I was ready to go to adoption as my next option. I asked about Donor embryo and as it turned out the clinic was starting a program. We found a match with the same ethnicities as myself and partner. The cost was nominal and the procedure was minimally invasive. I became pregnant first try!! (By the way I was 44 when I became pregnant.) I would definately do it again.

About Snowflakes, my RE was not keen on such agencies. He felt it made the process into a business. He also said that in his experience the embie quality and storage was not reliable. They also are very narrow about who they will accept as clients. They are a Christian organization and like to match married heterosexual christian couples who have been married a minimum I'm not sure how many years. I didn't fit this bill on a number of counts...I was very happy to go ahead at my RE's office.

Good Luck!!
