Routine Culture Strep B Positive

Okay has anyone ever had this tested before a cycle? I just found out I tested positive for Strep B and the nurse didnt seem to concerned and will get me an antibiotic on Monday. I start my Depo-Lupron tomorrow (Friday) and getting a little nervous about this positive culture.
She said if time permits we should do a reculture....what?? if we have time??? Donor is starting meds too!
Any advice?????

You just want to make sure that Strep B is gone before you go to transfer. I'm sure a couple days worth of an antibiotics will take care of it. And remember even when you are finished with the anitibiotic it is still working in your system a few days later.

I too am a strep B carrier. I have been told that like 33% of women carry it. It doesn't cause problems for you, I think they're more concerned about labor. When you go into labor (hopefully about 9mths from now) they will put you on antibiotics. It could harm the baby, but since they now you and you baby will be fine.
Good Luck and Best wishes
Bren

I think the nurse probably meant to say "We don't TEST for it anymore since it is some common!" (so they just treat it) A lot of times the antibiotic is cheaper than doing the blood test and Drs. know it will take care of whatever!

Okay this is the final answer from the RE:
They did a routine culture for various things and the Strep B showed up. It is very common and no need to do anything at this point. They do treat when you go into labor, so lets hope we get that far
