I'm still new at the DE game, so I'm a little confused. FET is frozen embryo transfer right? If so, I'm a little surprised that DE FET is so rare. Why is that? Are FET's rare to begin with? Wouldn't the odds be the same as for regular FET? I'm sure hoping that we have plenty of eggs from our donor, at least more than I made on our 3 IVF attempts (7, 7 and 4, and I'm 44).

Hi Hilde!
Why do you think that DE FET is so rare? Are you looking at some stats? I don't know, that's why I'm asking. A completely personal assumption (and that's not always wise) is that there would be more DE FET's than non-donor FET's because donors should produce more and/or healthier eggs than an IF patient. I never had any left to freeze from my retrievals but had 5 from this donor cycle. I've been wondering how it's been going for you. Are you getting close to cycling?? Kim

Actually, I was referring to a mention by Cheryllyn in the post "Any DE FET Here?"
I would think the same as you, Flicka, for the same reasons. But, the mention of it made me nervous, especially as this is our last shot... Speaking of which, Donor and I both start Lupron tonight!! U/S and B/W for both of us on 2/24, so here we go! I hope my story turns out as well as yours... I've been watching your progress - yay!! ![]() Hilde

Awesome, good luck to you! I hope you get lots of good eggs and some left over for an FET, just in case.
