Ideas for this board
It would really be nice for those of us cycling (or hoping to in the near future) to be able to come to this bb for support, encouragement, info about clinics, agencies, selecting donors, etc without every other post being about issues most of us have already worked through (i.e., to tell or not, how to get comfortable with the idea of DE, mourning the genetic loss, how to know when to give up on own eggs, etc). It seems like a lot of those threads are invaded by outsiders who are not doing IF tx using donor gametes, but who happen to have strong opinions one way or the other.
These are all extremely important issues to discuss but CAN WE PLEASE HAVE A SEPARATE BOARD, maybe called Discussing Donor Issues, where these kind of discussions can take place? Those of us cycling are going through enough stress already and it is really upsetting to see frequent posts about these issues that can get so controversial or that just get plain old (to those of us who have worked through them). And if someone is cycling and still needs support about this stuff, they can go to the "Discussing..." board for support or ideas. Admin... Mod... what about this?? Can we do this?

I think Mod-Donor has put up a separate post for JUST stating your opinion on why you chose to disclose or not disclose, so people can look at it and determine what to do on their own. It's not a discussion thread... just opinions. So that should free up the BB for those ttc through donor gametes and other areas of interest that go along with it!

Hi!
I think that is a good idea. It takes a lot of research and soul searching to decide to use donor and it would be good to read other's opinions, yet not upset those who have decided to go ahead and are dealing with the roller coaster of delays and disappointments that often precede success. An additional idea for those who are trying to decide on how to use donor to conceive and how they were handle disclosure afterwards would be to discuss options on a special chat session. I found it helpful discussing donor use with others who were also facing the same decisions. It is a huge decision. Dana Single, Mom through DIUI |

agree - this has worked on another bb very well. Support remained on one bb and hot discussion topics were moved to another. It seems to be working ok with that group. Once issues are resolved, they people gravitate towards the donor bb or adoption or drop off.
