im fixing to have my first cycle done on the 29 of august. im excited and scared at the same time, my donor had her second ultrasound done and everything looks good (she has three follies right now she will go back tommow (monday for third ultrasound) i go to do my ultrasound on the 26. my question is if my egg donor who i will call emily (because the nurse told me only her fist inital was E) if she only has three follies right now will she have more by tommow and if so about how many? i just want her to have sevaral eggs because this is costing me to much money for her not to produce a lot of eggs. thanks for any info.

Hi Mickey - Is your donor stimming now? I'm a little confused on the follicle #. The normal range for antal follicles is 14-24. Anything under 14 is a risk in terms of not responding well. It is possible that early in the cycle they only measure the bigger ones, and they didn't fully explain to you how she is doing. Surely she has more than that. Typically, by day 8 or so on stims, things really take off.

Ask what her estrogen (E2) is when you get updates. When the follicles reach about 14mm, you can divide the e2 # by 200 to have an idea of how many mature eggs she has. Don't be afraid to ask questions! You are paying good money and the least they can do is take the time to explain things to you. Good Luck!!
