Anyone skip the adoption agency and use an adoption lawyer? We've been with an agency for 3 years now and have only gotten 1 call from a birthmom. We were at the top of her list for a long time until she decided to pick another family. We've pretty much had it with this agency and are discussing going to an adoption lawyer. Seems like when you use a lawyer you get faster results.
Anyone use a lawyer you like in NC?

Check here: American Academy of Adoption Attorneys - and you might check to see if your local chapter of Resolve is doing a spring adoption event. Independent adoption is not completely legal in all states but you can check the statutes here in "The Idiot's Guide to Adoption" and here:State Statutes Search

My husband and I are just starting to look into adoption (in NC) and are overwhelmed by the options! Have you changed to a lawyer? How did you choose?
