How to Wait for Your Adopted Child

Let’s Talk Adoption… with Mardie Caldwell
www.****************.com - February 22, 2005 - 8 am PT and 8 pm PT

The Wait

Once the paperwork is completed and the profiles are polished, adoptive families’ hearts and homes are ready for their longed-for son or daughter. Then, the waiting begins.

Many adoptive couples find themselves wondering…

How long will this take, anyway?
Is there something we can do to expedite our adoption?
Is there anyone out there who can help us through this process?

Listen as Adoption Professional, Author and Host Mardie Caldwell and Adoption Professional Laurie Leiser share secrets that can help make your wait for that precious child a little easier.

Webster’s Online Dictionary defines waiting as “To stay or rest in expectation; to stop or remain stationary until the arrival of some person or event; to rest in patience.” But as any adoptive family knows, remaining stationary and patient until your child arrives…well, that’s a very tall order.

Many families have asked us if there is anything they can do to shorten the wait or make it less difficult, and the answer is yes! You can take control of your part in the adoption process, and while you may not be able to control all the details, you can control your own responses.

Please join Host Mardie Caldwell and Adoption Professional Laurie Leiser as they share some practical tips on how to handle the wait for our child with patience and fortitude, while doing something wonderfully positive for ourselves in the process.

Your questions, comments and suggestions are welcome at Let’s Talk Adoption, and we look forward to hearing from you. Please email us through www.****************.com.
