Josh is doing much better with the gas, from the change in formula and the infant massage. But now I think we are dealing with colic as well, after he is changed/feed/cuddled every night he goes into these crying bouts for about 30 minutes until he wears himself out and goes to sleep. This happens even when holding him, rocking, cuddling, shushing, walking around. It gets pretty frustrating. Also bfeeding didn't really work for us, we would go 20 minutes each breast and I would still have to follow up with a bottle where he would drink like 1.5 ounces. I read up and it seems from his reaction during it is a combination of his sleepiness and an inefficient suck, he struggles to suck even with the bottle, feeds take forever! Since I still want him to get the good stuff I am now a slave to the pump, I try to pump every two hours or so, but doesn't always happen. How is everyone else doing and how is the New Year so far?

Elijah is doing really well. We had to switch formulas again because he started having explosive diarrhea on Isomil. He's been on Alimentum for 6 days now and he's a completely different, much happier baby. Hardly cries now unless he needs to be fed.

I can't believe that my little baby is 4 weeks old today! He's growing so fast. In another short 4 weeks, I'll be returning to work. :'( I have no idea how I'm going to cope with leaving my baby... But I'm pretty sure there will be a lot of tears shed, on my part. DH has resigned from his job and will be a SAHD, so that will make the transition a lot easier for all of us.

We knew that having a baby would change our lives, but we had no idea to what extent, until now. What a blessing to have been able to share this wonderful journey with such a great group of ladies. I hope that everyone checks in once and a while to keep us updated on how you and your LO's are doing.

    Take care!!!

Connor is a wonderful breastfeeder to the point he pigs out! I have to cut him off after 20 mins on one side and 10 on the other or we have massive vomiting. I think he has reflux, but the ped is reluctant to give him meds so someone has to hold him upright for 30 mins after feeds.
Sorry some our LOs are having problems with gas/ feedings
I'm still waiting to wake up and find out this has all been a dream. There is no way I deserve the wonderful little guy I have. He's a dream come true.

    Hi Ladies!

Maddox is doing well. Breastfeeding has finally gotten better after the first week & a half. We're currently trying to get him on a schedule to Feed, Play & then nap. It's a bit of a challenge. I think we've been spoiling him by holding him a lot, so he gets a bit fussy when we put him down.

It still has all felt surreal. I don't even want to think about going back to work! DH has been off work for 3 weeks & he goes back next Monday, so I am a bit sad we won't be able to play house anymore. But I'll have a few more weeks before i have to think about work and I'm going to try not to think about it till then!

I've enjoyed going on this journey with you ladies and reading about everything going on. I hope we continue to post updates, as I am sure we still need the support as our little ones grow! Happy New Year!

Hi everyone!! We're doing pretty well here. Hayden will be 4 weeks old tomorrow and we see the pediatrician for her 1 month well check next week. Breastfeeding is going smoothly (I only nurse on one side per feeding) and I can tell she's chunking up a bit! She's a really easy going baby for the most part. She cries when she needs to be fed or is ready for sleep. All I have to do is swaddle her up, pop the binky in her mouth and put her in the bouncy seat and she's out! Nighttimes can be a little difficult for me because sometimes I'm up for 30 minutes feeding her, then she'll start fussing after I get all comfy back in bed! When I'm up for an hour at a time during the night, it makes me cranky. LOL! She needs to burp or she gets all squirmy but it's near impossible to get her to burp after she's fallen back to sleep. She has given me a few 4-5 hour stretches of sleep, which has been heavenly. Adjusting to 5 kids has been easier than I expected so far!! We're all happy and healthy.

How is everyone and their LO's doing?

Elijah had his 5 week checkup today. He's now a healthy 11 lbs, so he's doing really well. They gave him a vaccination today and my heart literally fell out of my chest and shattered into a million pieces. He cried his little heart out and there was quite a bit of blood. Ugh! Not looking forward to his two month checkup as there will be two more vaccinations involved!

The pedi thinks that he has reflux so well be starting the Zantac tomorrow. Other than some spitting up episodes, he's been doing fine. Still doing really well on the Alimentum. it's been a real lifesaver!

We will be taking him to get studio pictures made soon and I'll make sure to post them.

    Take care!

Arianna glad Elijah is doing well! It is great that your DH can stay home with him, I will be home with ours for as long as financially possible.

Bellastar - Thank you soo much, I really appreciate it!

Smiley - So glad your little lady is doing so well, I am amazed you have 5 kids working out so smoothly with this one it is hard to think of having another soon.

Smurfy and Tiphie - So glad your little ones are doing well!

Arianna I know exactly how you felt, Joshua had his 5 week yesterday and his shot as well, he took it pretty good cried for a sec (which is odd being he cries longer than that when nothing is wrong LOL) then was ok, he is 9lbs 3 oz. I am also not looking forward to his 2 month for the same reason. We did professional pics a week ago will share some more when we order them.

Dino: How are you and your LO doing? Thinking about you guys!

Queen: Joshua is precious! I absolutely love the pics, thanks for sharing! How is he doing? Is he doing better with the formula change?

Smurfy: I have three more weeks left before I have to return to work and it's eating me up alive! I might end up just staying out longer... but the flipside is that my workplace is only a quick 5-10 minutes drive so I can come home for lunch or whenever I need to. But, still... ya know? Hope you and your LO are doing well.
