Arianna - That is awesome you are so prepared!! I am like Smurfy and kinda want to wait until after my shower to see what I get. But I am a little worried since my shower is only 4 weeks before my dd, I don't think I want to go shopping that late.
Smiley - Cute pic as usual! Belly watching has become DH and I's fav new hobby, I love seeing my tummy bounce and move around it is awesome and weird! Thanks for the additional item list as well, we are making a master list and will try to check off as we go.
Faithful - I don't think I am going to be ready until I get this boy in my arms, it sometimes still doesn't feel real. I am super excited but it is hard to be ready when I still kinda feel like we are far from delivery. How did your Dr. appt. go? I have two this week one on Tues. (u/s) and then OB appt. on Thurs. I do get nervous right before and always use my doppler to check on him (poor baby) I just can't imagine going to an u/s and not seeing him move (sorry if I offended anyone). I know bedrest had got to be hard but you are doing a great job and the best thing for your LOs.
Dana - sorry on the painful BH, I hope you get relief soon. Glad your cervix is still closed and keeping your LOs in there temp home.
Ella - I have an automatic sticker thingy (lol) works like a charm, never have to stick twice you load up the needle into it and it does the work for you. Also helps when you get a little scared about sticking yourself. Also make sure you are doing the sides and not the pads of your fingertips, it hurts less this way and won't leave you sore. I have two fav fingers and they are my go to the thumbs tend to hurt the least. I do the same schedule before and after the main three meals it is highly annoying at first but becomes part of your routine. Also try not to beat yourself up on the levels (I know it is hard!) you have to consistently/daily be over the 180 mark to actually harm your baby. I have been struggling with my diabetes the entire pregnancy and (thank god) my LO is doing just fine, yours will be fine as well.
I really haven't bought much and I feel so behind, but I think it is my infertility fear keeping me from buying things, like I don't want to press my luck. We have found our new place and took some items over yesterday and will take some more today, we are taking our time because I refuse to move junk from the old place to the new. we have to Oct. 14 to be totally out of the old house, so we can take a little time.

Queen - Glad to hear you and your little one are doing well. Good luck with the moving! You must really be feeling great to be able to participate in that process. That's awesome! I will be thinking of you Tues and Thurs.
I've had more than 3 weeks of bedrest, and I feel so deconditioned. Sometimes I feel like I can barely catch my breath just from rolling over in bed. It also takes more effort to stand up or sit down. I've been having groin pain every time I stand up. Doctor says its because my body isn't used to it now. But appt went fairly well last week and things are good enough to continue the pregnancy and put off delivery. Yay! Are any of you looking at apps to put on your phone for feeding/nursing schedules? I found a good one if you are. It's called Baby Connect and its $5. You can keep track of everything feeding (bottles, nursing, expressing milk), peeing, pooping, milestones, medical stuff like vaccines given, temperature, baby has a cold, height, weight, head circumference, sleep, activity, dropped off or picked up, etc. You can sync it up with dh's phone so you can both input data. You can input info for as many kids as you want. It looks like it will be really helpful.
Still thinking about y'all. Praying that you and your little ones are doing well!

Queen - Good luck on moving and on your appointments this week. I know what you mean about the infertility fear about buying more things. We have the main items, like crib, changing table and I have bought some clothes. But other items, I still feel hesitant on. It gets easier as we are entering our third tri toon.
Faithful - Good tip on the phone app! I plan on checking that out for sure. Thinking about you and hope your bed rest is going okay!
AFM - Hope everyone is doing well! It's so hard to believe how fast time has flown. It feels like just the other day that we were finding out we were pregnant and being very cautious about believing it was really true. And here we are today, feeling our guy kick and getting a nursery set up. I know we all feel so blessed!
Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Queen: I'm so slow nowadays, I didn't even think to wait to shop until after my babyshower(s). Is there any way that you can pull in the date of your baby shower? That way you'll have more time to prepare and make any returns/exchanges if needed. I'm sorta in the same boat. My first babyshower is scheduled for the end of October and my second one at the end of November. I understand what you mean, I sometimes catch myself looking at all the baby stuff and asking myself "what if". It's an awful feeling and I have to try my best to stop myself.
faithful: I'm still in disbelief that in just a few more months, I'll be someone's mom. I wake up every morning and touch my belly to ensure that I'm still pregnant because it all seems like a dream, waaay too good to be true. But yes, DH and I are ecstatic and can't wait to meet our LO... as far as "ready", I think we're as ready as we'll ever be. I have got to get this in writing so that I can go back and show him in the future if needed, but the guy actually asked me if I would show him how to change diapers and even said "please". Uhm, YES, absolutely!
I hope you're still doing well on bedrest. I'm starting to feel better now and haven't been as exhausted as I have been.I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way.
My friends and family have been saying the same, that I'm carrying small for being as far along as I am. Really? I feel huge! Have you ever heard of Desperate Housewives? It's a great show, extremely addicting, and you can watch all the episodes on Netflix. Aside from Desperate Housewives, I love watching stand-up comedies and reality shows such as The First 48 (I'm fascinated with forensics). We also watched a movie called The Killing Jar a few days ago and it was also pretty good, though somewhat gory. One of my favorite movies is Ever After with Drew Barrymore, you'll have to watch it if you haven't seen it before.
Dana: Sorry to hear that your BH's are worsening. How did your appointment go on Friday?
Smurfy: I understand, I'm right there with you. I'm having a hard time deciding which bottles to use as well. I did a lot of research and overall, it sounds like it just depends on what your baby will take to. I read a lot of great reviews on Dr. Brown's but did not go all out in the purchasing department, just in case my LO doesn't like them. I figured we could go shopping afterwards. Have you seen the new Tommee Tippee bottles? They're so cute and unique looking. BabiesR'US has the entire line on sale this week for 25 off.
Ella: Hang in there! I'm thinking about you.
AFM, I had my 1 hr GTT this past Friday and it wasn't all that bad. My check-up went really well - everything's fine and baby is measuring 2.5 weeks ahead! The dr. didn't seem concerned but said that he'd like to do an ultrasound soon to make sure that everything's fine and that baby isn't getting too big. We start seeing him on a bi-weekly basis now. He asked me what my worst fear was and of course I said "labor and delivery". We've been watching videos and I've been forcing DH to partake in the watching part to better prepare him for that day. All I can say is, OMG!!!
Thank you everyone for the helpful suggestions regarding items to get! I hope that everyone's doing well. Take care!

ARIANNA - Sorry to see you are so tired. You might want to have your doctor check your iron as soon as I hit my 3rd trimester my iron levels dropped again and now I am up to two iron pills a day plus 2 prenatal vitamins a day. That is quite a list you have and it seems right on target. Will you be having a shower to help you with all these items? Glad your appt. went well Friday. When do you get the results back of your 1hour glucose test?
ELLA - your diet sounds just like mine. Sorry you are having such a difficult part with the sticking and testing yourself. So far, are you able to say off insulin?
SMILEY –Very cute pic from last week. How was your appointment today?
QUEEN – I could not even imagine moving at this junction of a pregnancy. Hope everything goes well for that. I completely understand your infertility fears keeping you from buying too many things. I have a lot of stuff but I have every receipt, I have not washed anything and have kept the tags on everything as well and I attribute that to my infertility fears too.
FAITHFUL - sorry your bed rest is getting to you. But it is good to hear that it is working and things are going well and you made it another week. Every week is a milestone for you. Praying for you.
DANA – how are things with you?
AFM – It has been a super busy week last week and this weekend. Being cut down to 6 hours a day at work only 4 days a week is stressing me out with as much as there is to get done. Had an appt. Friday (I go weekly now) had a fluid check u/s on the babies and a NST that went good. However, my blood pressure is starting to go up, me feet are swelling so bad that I can only wear flip flops and then with the diabetes I feel like I am falling apart. Go back to the doctor Friday as well as the diabetic nutritionist. Babies’ movements have slowed a little bit but they are still moving. Gonna talk to the dr. about it this Friday. I had my shower Saturday. It went great. I got a lot of great things and some not so great . Got a ton of clothes which I will prolly take some back and get a couple things that I still really need but it was a good time. I over did it and paid for it with BH and terrible back ache that night but it was worth it.
Thinking of you all.

Lovely to read updates.
OB is definitely taking my pregnancy seriously.
My carpel tunnel makes it extremely painful to type. We all are sick, so will post when I feel a bit more human.
Hugs on the moving Queen.
Arianna, I was taking 300 mg that contained 33 elemental units of iron twice a day, but OB switched me to a brand Palimar that also has 300 mg , but works out to 100 elemental units. He is starting me at one of these new ones, but said we may need to bump it up to three times a day. Perhaps you could check it out.
I'm very out of breath--especially during contractions. Hope this cold is gone before the weekend. Have 20 kids coming over for a birthday party at our house and I have not finished clearning the floors yet, nor selling the excess furniture, let alone planned for food or games or anything. MRI and u/s growth are planned for beginning and ending of next week. Driving is getting a little tough....though I still have only gained 10.5 pounds since my transfer.
Wishing you well and look forward to reading from some of our members we have not heard from for a week or two.

Queen - Wow. You are a ROCK STAR! I still sometimes feel overwhelmed by it all but you are correct, it does become routine. The important part is that the baby stays healthy and happy through all this, and a special diet and some finger sticks is a small price to pay for that. I went for my 1 week checkup with the dietitian and she did not seem concerned and felt that the couple of times my levels were over 120 were no big deal. That helped a lot. Good luck with your move and don't overdo it!
Tammi - So far, no insulin. Just diet controlled for the moment. Hopefully I will be able to keep going that way, but it is certainly a challenge. The food is good, but I find I have to remind myself to eat every 3 hours even when I am not hungry and sometimes on the weekends, when I am running around busy, I miss the mark and that throws my sugar off. I always carry something with me in case I am out of the house, but i had to set a cell phone reminder so I wouldn't go over 3 hours because I am not at all getting hungry that frequently. Good luck on your appointments this week...keep us updated.
Arianna - Like Tammi, my iron levels dropped at about 28 weeks. My doctor checked them when she did the GTT so maybe yours will do that as well.
Hope everyone is having a good week!
AFM - Had a re-check with the dietitian last Friday as well as my OB. Both want to see me back every 2 weeks for now. The OB will do an u/s next Friday to check baby's growth, but she said that she will not be doing NST or BPP unless I have to go on insulin. They did tell me that they would not let me go past 39 weeks now, which makes my due date 11/19 at the latest. I have a bit of a head cold this week, but lots of hot tea, soup and water seem to be getting me through for now. My mother finally set a date for the baby shower, October 23. Kind of later than I would have liked, but it was the first date that all the out of town folks could get here.

I can't sleep... I had a doctor's appointment yesterday, and we didn't get the news that we were hoping for. Our baby girl has been having trouble for the last month. Doctors have been concerned regarding her growth and blood flow in her umbilical cord. Yesterday, her blood flow looked the same as in previous weeks - not great, but good enough. But she has only grown 2 oz in the past two weeks which means she is not getting the nutrients that she needs (intrauterine growth restriction). I have been on bedrest and stuffing myself to try to get them as many nutrients as possible. Baby boy, by the way, is right on track so the doctor says it is nothing that I am doing or not doing.
I am now 27.5 weeks. Next Thursday if baby girl has not grown enough, I will have a c-section. I will only be 28.5 weeks. They gave me the steroid shot today to help mature the babies lungs. They also had to give me a shot to stop contractions. I was upset after the news so during my nonstress test, my uterus was irritable and contracting (at least that is what the nurse said).
I am so sad. I want to give them the best start in life as possible, and yet it is not up to me. God is in control whether they are inside or outside, but we were hoping for so many more weeks inside. Today baby boy is estimated to weigh 2.5 lbs, and baby girl 1.5 lbs. So tiny.
Will you please pray for us?m/c 6/09, Lap 6/10, dx severe endo
