So, we went yesterday (25w4d) for the first in our two-part elective 3D/4D ultrasound. It was really cool. Not only were there two high resolution monitors typical of what was at the dr office, they project it onto a 60" plasma screen as well. It was so amazing. Our little guy was a bit shy and had his head buried and his arms and hands curled up in front of his face sleeping a lot of the time. But he did blink, yawn, wave (punch!?) and kick a few times that we got recorded. The u/s lasted about 45 minutes and they gave us a 20 minute DVD along with about 80 digital photos and 4 color prints. It was a great experience and I'm so glad we have that recorded so that someday our DS can see it! We go back at 35 1/2 weeks for the second part.
I definitely recommend getting your u/s recorded if at all possible. I thought the pictures were great, but seeing the motion is just amazing!

Sharond, are you able to post your pics? I would love to see them.
Just want to add about the u/s, that I am 31wks and now our little girl is head down and always has her hands in front of her face so it is almost impossible to get a good u/s pic anymore. (Which is why my avatar is from like 16wks) She is only at 2lbs and I wouldn't have thought that with their machines it would be so hard to get a nice view. I am glad we have taken our VHS tape to all the appt to record the u/s.
Don't put off getting your 4D if you have plans to. Make sure it is still early enough to catch all the cute stuff your little one is doing in there.DH 33 Me 32

I've selected just one from each 3D u/s we have had, you can see them here:
http://www.babiesonline.com/babies/s/sweetbabyd/
Most of the still pictures from this last time have his hands in front of his face. The DVD has more time when his hands were down, but they weren't all captured in the still shots. We also have close ups of his legs, feet and hands and all internal organs, but haven't posted them.
I found out at my last OB appt that she will do another u/s at 34 weeks. I didn't realize this. I assume this is common?
