Update on us...

First off I wanted to say sorry that I just sort of disappeared life was crazy and hectic and I really have no excuse.

Where to begin, I think I will start with my Mom, she is doing great. She is still doing chemo in bursts but it is working. She had a PET scan last month and it showed no tumor activity. Her doctor was extremely pleased. She is back to walking regularly with her friend and her energy is almost back to where it was before she was diagnosed. We are very happy.

Me, not much to report on me, I have been going to playgroup activities with the kids, took them to the pool by myself and I am happy to report they both survived as did I...lol I would love to try for another and I think I am slowly getting DH on board. We shall see.

Alex and Sofia, they crack me up on a daily basis. Some of the stuff that they say and do are so funny. Alex loves to sing and dance but he gets embarrassed if you watch him do it. The have started a band where Alex plays guitar and Sofia plays the piano. This video is old but you can get the idea. Hopefully you can see it. Video

I am also trying to teach them Dutch, this has been harder, they can both sing some songs which is a start. I also scold them in Dutch so they know when I speak Dutch that means they are in trouble...lol

I have also decided that I really dislike this age, they are much too opinionated and the backtalk and independence is a pain...lol

They are still sharing a room but we are thinking of splitting them up come the end of the year. Potty training has not started yet and I am lucky because they are still in cribs. No signs of climbing I think they like having their own space that the other can't get too. Whatever is in their crib is theirs and no one elses. I can't really think of anything else I have only had one cup of coffee yet today...lol Fire away any questions...lol

Hi Liz,

So glad to hear your mom is doing well! I hope it continues for a long, long time.

Glad to hear the updates on you and the kids. I myself love and hate this age! They are cute in the things that they say and do but if I hear "I do it MYSELF (especially when they really can't)" one more time I think I'll scream!

Enjoy the rest of the summer!

Hey Liz!

So glad to hear your mom is doing well, that is wonderful.

Brave of you to go to the pool with Alex and Sofia. I go with Jimmy and I've often wondered how anyone could do it with more than one at this age!

I would love for Jimmy to know a second language. We have tried with Spanish, but since neither of us really speak another language it is hard to teach Jimmy. His daycare/preschool starts teaching Spanish at 3 yrs. We'll see.

Hi Liz, so wonderful to hear how well your mom is doing! Wow!

Isn't it crazy that a second pregnancy for you is #3?! Or, do I even dare utter, gulp, #3 AND #4!

So, how did you manage the pool with both of them, did you have to stay in the baby pool?

Thanks for the update, now I gotta go try that video!

Sharon, check out books in Spanish. That way you learn along with Jimmy. These are my favorites:
My Famiglia y Yo (My family and me)
Eric Carles books in Spanish (truthfully I don't like his books and can only tolerate them in Spanish)
Yo Puedo

Any board book that you like usually can be found in Spanish at Amazon and then you are learning and pronouncing simple and basic words. You can find pronunciation help online.

I was wondering how your mom was doing. Very happy to hear that she's doing well.

Sounds like life is going well for you, busy but well! The pool with more than one child is always an interesting experinece! I too am very excited when I come home from each pool visit w/o any issues (besides a scrape of a knee when Brynn falls b/c she simply canNOT walk at a pool! LOL!). My kids love the big pool and rarely go in the baby pool so it's always crazy but fun.
