for those with stairs...

How does your LO get up and down the stairs? We have gates and the top/bottom but when its time to go up and/or down what do you do?

I let him go up the stairs by himself with me right behind him. He kind of crawls up one at a time, or sometimes I'll hold his hands and he walks/climbs up them.

But going down the stairs, I always carry him... Should I not? Do you let you LO scoot down or something?

As I am typing, I am yelling at Ella not to go up the stairs (didn't put the gate when I got home from work). We do the same letting her walk up the steps. We do let her walk down as long as she is holding our hand obviously. She does pretty well with it and we count the steps as she goes down so she takes it slow.

We gate the stairs at the top and bottom. Connor crawls up the stairs and I generally just go ahead of him or behind him. When going down the stairs he tends to try and go down on his hands and knees feet first. Sometimes I carry him if I am in a hurry
