I have some news to share. I've been having MS for the past two weeks but I wasn't able to put two and two together until this past weekend and decided to test. Lo and behold, two dark lines!!! I was in such disbelief... but it became as real as real could possibly get, when I saw and heard my LO's hb on the ultrasound display this morning. I'm 8 weeks along and LO #2 is due to join us on November 4th (Elijah wont even be 1 yet!). Who would have thought that after 10 years of TTC on our own, unsucessfully, that we would finally get a BFP without medical intervention after the birth of our beautiful IVF baby? It's just crazy and unheard of! But we are so thankful... extremely happy, excited, and shocked - all at the same time.

So, I just wanted to share this news with you all. Hope everyone is doing well!

Congrats Arianna, that is amazing. Annaliese, is our surprise miracle, the twins were a product of our second IVF (first was BFN) and then when they were about 18 mo. old we did a FET which also failed. 6 mo. later I found out I was pg w/Annaliese. I woke up the morning of the twins 2nd birthday very sick and very tired and I was over a week late but I dismissed any thoughts of being pg until a week later when the symptoms didn't subside I finally took a test and couldn't believe my eyes...and it took seeing the baby on the sonogram for it all to really sink it.

What an awesome surprise for you and such an amazing Blessing!!!! YAY!!!!!

gmt: I didn't realize that Annaliese is your little miracle baby, that's just amazing!

Thank you, Ladies! We haven't announced our pregnancy to friends or families yet. It's kind of ironic because at my PP appointment, my OB asked if I wanted contraception (I obviously declined) and warned me that this very same scenario was possible. I laughed it off at the time. I am so very thrilled but truth be told, I'm also scared! I clearly remember making a mental note during labor that I would never go through this again (and I 200% meant it at the time!!!). lol It was so worth it though... and I would do it a million times over again. I know that every single one of you feel the same way.

Anyway, how are your LO's doing? Updates please! Any plans for Easter? Starting solids soon? We're starting soon, maybe next week - with avacado.

GMT - How awesome that Annaliese was a surprise, I didn't know that either. She is doing so well, they do say that bf babies don't sleep as well but she is doing awesome.
Joshua is (THANK GOD) finished with the colic mess, there were times I didn't think I would make it. He takes his last bottle at 12-1am and then gets his next one at 7-8am. He takes about 2-3 naps per day.

Arianna - I am still so surprised (not more than you for sure) and happy for you hun, do you mind sharing what DH and you had to do IVF for? It's PCOS and male factor for us, I am just trying to see if it would ever be possible for us to get a natural BFP.
You told me before that I would get the happy baby I wanted and your words rang true, thank you because I really needed that at the time. Joshua is so bubbly, laughing and smiling so much it just makes my heart swell and I am eager to get up in the morning to see his face.
Honestly I haven't even thought about first foods yet, I have to talk to DH to decide. Let me know how Elijah gets on with the Avocado. How are you feeling?

Smurfy - How are you and Maddox?

I'm so happy to hear that Joshua is over the colic mess! You did such an awesome job at managing it. I know first hand how horrible it is... no amount of books could have prepared us for that first month (couple of months, for you). In fact, I didn't even know what colic was until Elijah's arrival. Stupid colic! Regardless, you deserve a gold medal! I'm glad to hear that Joshua is a happy baby now. He is so very precious! Is he still on Alimentum?

Elijah is thriving! He's getting heavy and DH and I have to alternate carrying him around when we're out (because he hates his carseat, stroller, and carrier). He's also in 12 month clothing (9 month clothing is snug on him). Geesh, where on earth did this chunky baby come from? Am I the only one from our group with a big baby? He just started rolling over and it scares me, but he's able to hold his head up really well - so that eases my mind. I'll let you know he does with the avacado.

Thank you again, Queen. If it weren't for MS reminding me every stinking day, I'd have a hard time believing it myself. I have PCOS and DH has severe MF (yes, severe). We never imagined that we'd be able to achieve pregnancy on our own... and we were also told this by multiple specialists. We were already saving for another IVF round. This is truly our miracle baby! So don't give up hope, anything can happen!

Aside from the MS that seems to linger around for the majority of the day and exhaustion, I'm doing okay. Thanks for asking. Take care!

Queen, just wanted to let you know that we tried avocado tonight and it went really well. Elijah is definitely ready for baby food! He also loves it! He has good control of his tongue/mouth and was able to swallow most of the food, instead of pushing it back out of his mouth. We'll continue with the avocados for a few more days, then introduce sweet potatoes. And instead of rice cereal, we're going to feed him baby oatmeal. I know that some people don't like to start baby food until about 6 months or so, but our pediatrician recommends starting at 4 months. So, as long as he continues to do well with no issues, we'll gradually introduce new foods.

Hi All! Been busy with work and Maddox but have been thinking about you all!

Queen: So glad that the colic mess is over! Hope you and Joshua have been doing well!

Arianna: We also dealt with PCOS and severe MF. Your story really makes me feel good that anything is possible. Glad to hear the avocado went over well with Elijah. We want that to be Maddox's first food when we get the green light to let him try solids. Maddox is also a bit of a chunk too. His 4 month appointment is in 2 weeks, but I've already tried to weigh him at home and he's about 17 pounds. His sitter watches a 10 month old and I think Maddox is bigger than her! He's already in 6 month clothes, with some of them getting too small for him already!

I've been reminiscing a lot this weekend. A year ago (4/8), we went in for our FET. I never imagined a year ago today that I would be here with our little guy. I remember being so worried the first several months whether this was really happening or not. And today, I just feel so blessed with how far we've come!

Looking forward to continued updates from everyone!

Arianna - So glad that Elijah is doing well with the Avocado, I plan to also skip the rice cereal and go with baby oatmeal. We have our appt. next Tues. if we get the green light then we will start with baby food also. Kinda exciting huh?

Smurfy - It is interesting that we all had the same fertility issues, Arianna's pregnancy is definitely inspiring. It is so amazing to think back, I remember having to fight with the to get my retrieval date they kept pushing it back and back. Every morning I get up excited to see Joshua, it is an amazing feeling, being a mom certainly has lived up to all the struggle and stress! Joshua is still in some of his 0-3 and mostly 3-6, he is pretty long and his feet OMG skinny and long doesn't fit any of the infant shoes I had (luckily only got two pairs) and the socks where the mark is for his heel should be lands on his instep. It is funny to see.

Question for you ladies - do you have LO in another room or do they sleep in the same room as you and DH. If they do share the room when do you plan on moving them into their own room. We still have Joshua in his bassinet in our room, I am thinking at 6 months to move him into his room. Right now all his naps are in his crib and only his big night sleep is in the bassinet with us.
