Disgrasian: Racist Halloween Costumes...For Pets

There are pics there so it is best to just go look and offer up your views.

I am thinking the indignation some express there is about as silly as the costumes but that is just me

so, seriously, in the spirit of the holiday which is nigh upon us, let me know..

I think the whole idea of dressing an animal up is a bit lame anyway, but I am curious as to other's views

and the next time some one uses HuffPo as a "legitimate" source, I just may have to bring this out of the archives.

my view is that the "descriptions" of the costumes are a bit odd but it is a stretch to think the pimp dog is used only because he is black...Some people LOOK for racism where none exists and then sit back and feel morally superior to all..I never even THOUGHT about the dog being black, so who is the racist??? me? the person who buys it for his or her dog ( esp if said dog is black) or the writer of the piece who drew that conclusion which never entered my decidedly non racist mind???

Wow, that Chinese one is really pretty. My family is Scottish...I wouldn't be offended if one of those costumes was a kilt. I don't think they're offensive at all.

The tvs at the gym this a.m. were tuned to the news. I don't know where it was, but one of the channels showed a woman in an Octomom costume. I about fell of the machine I was on laughing! She had 8 newborn size baby dolls strapped to her front, a long black wig and her lipstick was waaaaaay exaggerated to get the lip thing going.

We had a costume contest today at work - one (married) couple went as Todd and Sarah and they tied for first place. She had the suit, the glasses, the hair and cheekbones (hers), carried a rifle and scared the hell out of me - she was so realistic I almost had to run screaming out of the room. I will never look at this marketing person the same way again.

Todd was good too though a bit more prosaic - he had a snowmobile jacket, that scruffy face thing that to me just looks like the guy in question needs a new razor (or hair of the dog to cure his hangover), the perfect "I might be henpecked but I'm still a badass" scowl, and was carrying a baby. Wish I had a pic of them to post. They were the perfect height/weight/hair color and bone structure to pull it off - it was amazing.

My bad.. that is a scary sight..I do think though it is a bit of an improvement over her day to day botoxedtohellandback look.

wonder if her botox injections are gonna be covered under the public option?
