that this country just does not value it's older generation. First there are threats of cutting Medicare and then it was released today that now those on social security are not getting their annual cost of living increase come January.

well, they claim inflation is none existant..I KNOW my mother's gas and electric have increased as has her food bill..but nope, nosireebob, there is no inflation and the old dudes don't need any help..

Since he cannot change that law, Obama has proposed a one time payment to seniors equalling a 2% cost of living increase.

Medicare cuts are a fact. Just google "medicare cuts" then call one of your local nursing homes and ask them how Medicare cuts are affecting the care grandma is getting and how many employees are not getting raises or are getting the axe.

Everything being proposed by the Democrats is resulting in a net negative for America.

other than anecdotal stories, I've not seen actual hard facts of cuts being implemented.

Still I must admit the lack of COLA is annoying all way round. Health care costs keep rising as does utilities etc. I'd read that Congress just voted themselves a COLA raise. I didn't get one, many many people didn't get one, wonder how insurance, banking and congress justfied that raise? It's a rhetorical question.

There is not COL raise this year..prices are going up on most items. Seniors who rely on SS will be hosed.. It really isn't that hard of a concept to grasp..and the $250 he wants to give them??? where are those funds coming from??? Hose the next generation

If the government had kept its hands off of SS money and done what it said it would, there would be plenty of money.

The government should NOT attempt to be all things to all people. The government should be controlled, not controlling.

How can we gripe about a lack of COL increase when we complain about increased taxes?
