RNC.com.....labor pains.

http://thinkprogress.org/2009/10/13/rnc-new-website/

Think Progress RNC’s New Website Reflecting Steele’s ‘Urban-Suburban Hip-Hop’ Riddled With Errors, Widely Panned

Technical problems always abound...perhaps there was a rush to get the site up and running before all the kinks were worked out and the testing completed?

Still, I have participated with multi-jurisdictional organizations trying to get a site up and running glitch free, so I try not to judge too harshly on the technical glitches....although, well, maybe right now (lots of political party finger pointing etc) there was a bit of an imperative to get it as right as possible up front.

So technical glitches aside, my question is this....what is the broad, multi generational appeal of a site where Michael Steele's blog is entitled "what up?". Surely this wasn't thought out and extrapolated. Michael Steele just seems a tad too formal and 'mature' for "what up" speak. I just don't see an ITK type for instance, being too impressed with the grammar or being compelled to a site because it sounds so hip.

Maybe it's just me being too harsh? I understand that maybe he's tying to appeal to a younger base that has it's majority in the Dem camp....some sort of conversion tool? But to me the dumming down of our language, titles etc is not the right direction.

Ha! I don't care about Michael Steele and his "what up" whatever it is, but thanks for directing me to the site. I actually dig it (I know, imagine that) and think it is a positive step in the right direction!

you're very welcome. If it suits you then great....maybe it'll keep you away from weirder more angry sites for a few extra minutes per day.

So what did you think of the reply/comments associated with Steele's first blog?

Steele's blog no longer titled 'What Up?'
Posted: October 14th, 2009 10:06 AM ET

From CNN Political Producer Peter Hamby

The RNC has apparently changed the name of Michael Steele's blog.
WASHINGTON (CNN) — After an initial round of Internet mockery, the Republican National Committee has apparently decided to drop "What Up?" as the title of Michael Steele's blog on the newly revamped GOP.com.

One day after the rollout of the site, which crashed repeatedly throughout the day Wednesday and was ridiculed by Democrats and Republicans alike, Steele's blog is now called "Change the Game."

There's still only one post so far on the blog, a short entry that asks readers to answer the question, "Why are you a Republican?"

Well there ya go then. I wasn't the only one wondering about the "What up?" speak.

Thanks Nance.

Is that what you got from the OP? That only Dems can get away with it? *sigh* you really must be doing that on purpose.

I would have asked the very same question had Hillary Clinton been using that same title and "speak" for her blog.

Practicing what you preach and heeding your own advice would do well in your case as well IMO.

On the title of the blog.....I believe the onslaught of "racial" tension got the better of them. Too bad. Being labeled racists by the prestigious left is getting OLD.

I think appointing Steele to head of the RNC was a racist move in response to Obama. Not that Steele isn't capable and eligible. He certainly has made some bone-headed statements and decisions. I would hope that the Republicans would return to their conservative roots, stand hard on conservative principles and not give a flying fig about about the Democrat's calls for the Republicans to be more moderate. I do not support the Republicans in their quest to be Democrat-lite. I think the republicans would be the dominant party today it is had a spine.

-Sell all you have . . . and purchase liberty.

I call on all Republicans to stand by conservative principles and to expose the Democrats for what they really are: Multi-national progressives and socialists.
