why the fact that SNL is (gasp) slamming BO is sooooo newsworthy? They slam sitting POTUS's and political figures all the time. I don't get it.....

Maybe because the main stream media is supposed to be in his pocket or something.

It has always seemed to me that whoever is in power is the one who is fair game for jokes, questioning, etc. so really should not be newsworthy.

It's because the media thus far has treated him with kid gloves. If you think about all of his gaffes over the past couple of years, there were few covered by late night talk show hosts or SNL.

To see SNL finally treat him as they have previous presidents...yup, it got people's attention.

Some still like to pretend there is no bias, but that's sort of a moot point now.

Until this president, that was true. Your statement proves what many here have been saying for months...the media has treated him with kid gloves. It wouldn't BE newsworthy if he'd had the usual treatment before now.

My question is why cnn thought it important to do a fact check about the skit? I don't recall the same for skits involving other politicians.

Because that is what they do! They find anything that they can make fun of. They have the comedian who plays the part. Personally, I think that this shows that they just don't attack one party and not the other.

Most comedians say that they don't have a lot of material with BO because he is kind of boring. Bush provided so much material for them, as did Palin and Bill Clinton.

sheryl....I get that. But it's all over the news that SNL is making fun of him. I honestly don't remember CNN or the Today show reporting in the past that SNL was slamming Clinton or Bush. I don't remember CNN investigating line by line all that is true or not true in the SNL skit. It's never been reported that "last night there was a skit on SNL slamming the President."

Man, the just amount of times his teleprompter has fallen/failed should be enough fodder. And when he doesn't have his prompter the amount of "uuuhs" and "ummms" is ridiculous. Of course, you RARELY see those on mainstream media so SNL may not know about the uuuhs and uuuums.
