A Tale of Two Resumes

This is a great read!

A Tale of Two Resumes
Barack Obama versus Sarah Palin.
by Dean Barnett

WHAT STORY DOES Barack Obama's résumé tell? Obama became the head of the Harvard Law Review in 1990 and graduated Harvard Law magna cum laude in 1991. These accomplishments suggest great intelligence and strong interpersonal skills. They also suggest limitless potential.

. . .

Unlike Obama, one wouldn't look at the early years in Sarah Palin's résumé and necessarily see unlimited potential. A 1987 graduate of the University of Idaho, Palin's greatest accomplishments from her youth would come in the "Miscellaneous Information" portion of the résumé. The fact that she had won a beauty contest would impress some people. Her sinking of a critical free throw on a broken ankle in her high school state championship would impress others. Still, there would be nothing in Palin's résumé from her younger years that would suggest potential like Obama's.

The conclusion is perfect:

In truth, Sarah Palin is the kind of employee virtually every enterprise seeks--the kind who gets things done. And Barack Obama is the kind of employee a company hires only when it's in the mood for taking a risk and willing to wager that the candidate's past performance isn't predictive of his future efforts.

He scares the pee-willy out of me. It used to be because I thought he was charming and could pull the wool over peoples eyes but now I get an (I'm gonna get it for this comment) evil vibe from him. Please don't ask me to back it up with an article or other piece of literature. I just trust these vibes I get. The scary thing is I have been right the majority of the time when I get these senses.

I feel it too Molly, it seems like there is something brewing just below the surface.

Yeah like he is gonna rip his face off after the election and underneath will be one of those mice eating aliens from that old show "V". JUST KIDDING EVERYONE!

No I do believe that we are not seeing the real Obama. He is saying what he needs to say to who he feels wants to hear it to get elected and then the real agenda will be revealed.

They have been compared by the media ad nauseum despite the fact you mentioned. silly, I know, but the reason is because of the lack of experience they both exhibit. If the Obama camp say his experience is adequate for the presidency, then her experience should be more than adequate for the VP slot.

I thought it was a shrewd move for McCain because it emphasized Obama's lack of experience and marginalized the media and the Democrats when the issue is brought up.

Yes, Sarah Palin is running for the VP but is continuously compared to Obama in terms of experience and ability. That makes it obvious that Obama is no match for John McCain in that arena.

The thought of Gov. Palin as VP scares me to no end. And because John McCain picked her, he scares me now too.

??? She made a shot at the buzzer??? Thats better than magna cum laude at Harvard??? A Beauty pageant REALLY???

Many do not knows SP. I do not know her, yet. I hope to. I figured out my problem with her. Everyone is jumping on the SP wagon based on what they have found out about her in a couple weeks (most people, course not all maybe not even you) They have decided she is wonderful, good and wholesome. I am not willing to do that until I see more. I would never take that risk with someone. I hate to look like an idiot or sheeple so I put no blind trust in anyone or anything. Am i a cynic, yep probably lolol...

SP probably has more chance than any other VP to be president. That makes her role as VP more crucial. That cannot be ignored. Her and Obamas lack of experience scare the pee willy out of me equally. Honestly though a harvard magna cum laude plus inexperience is more appealing than a lack of experience and a shot at the buzzer...

That article (just as her and rudys community organizer comments) devalues and mocks a Magna Cum Laude from Harvard. Come on. Not just Obamas but anyones and I am sure some reps somewhere have earned the same marks. Just as some repubs were community organizers.

I made many shots at the buzzer in basketball. It was in 8th grade lolol... Can i be VP??? Really...

I think I'm on board with the SP thing... I am not so much jumping on the bandwagon, but digging into her real resume and finding what she's done in her home state, etc. I find myself running to catch up to that bandwagon and my speed is picking up. Whether I hold my hand out to be lifted up onto it with everyone remains to be seen as I keep searching and evaluating her experience, and most importantly, her integrity. I am gaining confidence though by what I am seeing being written and said... time will tell.

And uh, did everyone here bother to read the entire article that ITK gave the link to or just assume those two paragraphs were the whole article?
