What have you learned on the db?
I was just wondering what people have learned here? I come for fun and to learn from others views, as true debate should be a learning process in my opinion. So what have people learned worth their time on this bb?

Actually, i dont agree with that. You dont necessarily have to agree with people politically in order to have fun with that person. My best friend and I rarely agree on politics. We just dont talk about it. We talk about other things.

Nostalia is hauntingly familiar.

Some people are incredibly articulate and I enjoy reading their opinions even though I may not agree. I learn from them.

I have also learned to be informed on comments...no guesses, but facts and supporting data.

I've learned to word my phrases more carefully since they may get picked apart and unintentional messages construed (hence my constant editing)...I've learned it's not possible to avoid unintended interpretations no matter how hard I try.

I have just recently started reading topics on the debate board during a long hospital stay and I really have thoroughly enjoyed hearing intelligent comments on "both sides of the fence". I've learned a lot, done more research than I've had to do in years, and look forward to many more interesting conversations.

But Nostalgia didn't say that she would only want to have a drink with those she agrees with. Frankly I'd be very interested in learning if a few people here are as opinionated IRL as they are here.

I've learned that I wish you all would have been around when I was debating in HS and college. Sure would have been fun to put a topic out and learn/practice through/with you guys!!!

I also feel like there are a ton of really intelligent ladies on this board that know their crap.

Congrats for being able to respect one another enough to have a board like this. I think it is great to have multiple opinions in one place. Feels like home

I don't drink but I agree with the concept. I have found that some that I enjoy do not necessarily have the same point of view but they are smart.
