Florida

Should Florida's primary votes be counted?? It doesnt matter who the votes are for or against. Should they count?

I'm kind of torn. Florida broke the rules and the dems decided not the count them as punishment. It's funny cause they changed the date to make it seem as if they had more say in the nominee, but if they waited, they probably would have made more of a difference.

Did the individual Dem voters break the rules? No, it was the heads of thee Democrats Florida Democratic Committee. They should be disciplined. If the Democrats had any integrity, then they should count all votes and seat all of the delegates.

Yes the votes should be counted and the florida committee sanctioned...not that it means much. But the voters shouldn't be disenfranchised at all.

the DNC has already made its mind up..Seating all the Fla delegates would not have worked well for BO ..Also giving him some delegates in Mich when he did not even win any just adds more credence to the fact that they have already chosen him

I watched the movie "Recount" this weekend ( took two days to watch it as I was tired from long hours) but the same DNC who wanted ALL the FLA votes to count in 2000( except the overseas military ones of course) now don't really give a snook about ALL the votes in Fla..I found that very interesting.

Every vote should count! It is illegitimate to allow some sort of arcane rules to take away the win from the winner of the popular votes. The legitimate winner is the one who got the most popular votes. George Bush is an illegitimate President, because Gore got more popular votes. We heard that refrain for the past 7 years, screeched very, very loudly for then first 4, less loudly for the next two. Since Florida and Michigan, they've only been whispered. But now they're being screeched again, by those who represent the majority of people who voted in the Democratic Primaries. The majority of people who voted in the Democratic Primaries voted for Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton has won the popular vote. But arcane party rules, the Democrat Electoral College, are depriving Hillary Clinton of the delegates which she is entitled to, based on having had more people vote for her. Count every vote, and make Hillary Clinton the nominee, which she is by right of having had more Democrats vote for her. That logic is obvious. The only counter to it is the pre-existing rules. Of course, Bush beat Gore by the pre-existing rules. So if Howard Dean were consistent, he would be firmly supporting Hillary Clinton. So would Al Gore and John Edwards, and everybody else who was screeching "Count Every Vote". They're not, of course. And they have newly confected arguments as to why this is different. Sort of the like the ever-changing econometric standards devised by the government over the years to say that the economy is doing better and better and better.
