Consider the problems that exist in the VA medical system. Why would we think that a nationalized medicine system would be any different? In fact, I think you would find it to be much worse.

We discussed the Canadian healthcare system a while back. And, several members who live there had nothing but good things to say.

However, I was of the opinion then, and still am that the government is not in business to provide healthcare. I do think health insurance needs to be removed from employers so that individuals can get price quotes much like we do for autos, etc. in the open market. Right now, individuals don't stand a chance at getting a decent price because of the link to employers.

I'm afraid of what our healthcare will become if it changes to a single payer system that is government managed.
