Well, it's official: Romney's out

From the AP:
BOSTON - Mitt Romney will suspend his presidential campaign, NBC News has learned.
His withdrawal effectively cedes the Republican nomination to Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.
The former Massachusetts Republican governor has been seriously trailing McCain in the delegate count since Super Tuesday and is scheduled to speaks at the Conservative Political Action Conference at 12:30 p.m. ET today in DC.
Former Gov. Mike Huckabee, R-Ark., remains in the race but trails Romney in the delegate counts.
I didn't like him, but then again, I don't like any of the Republican candidates much. I feel Frenchy in Grease -- just really conflicted about whether to stay in beauty school or go back to high school. (That made no sense. I should go eat lunch.)

Just heard that on MPR. So, will he throw his delegates to his nemesis Huckabee, given they were the rivals for the true conservative wing of the party?

Too bad. Now the Republican campaign will be pretty dull. At least the Democrats are still entertaining.

Mc Cain/Huckabee ticket..Liberal conservative ( WHAT an oxymoron) and a conservative conservative republican..Would it work ??

Would Obama/Oprah stand a chance??

What are your views? ..( RobineLLC is refraining form comment at this time)

I feel like Rizzo in Grease...Sassy/slightly risque and want to push people off a bench...

So many interesting Grease parallels...

McCain, while he should be Danny Zuko, is clearly hotheaded Kenickie. This, then, would make his running mate (who I believe will be Fred Thompson) Danny Zuko, which makes sense since Thompson ended up with the hot young female. Huckabee is a ringer for Doody ... or maybe Putzie, and Romney was Tom Chisum, good-looking captain of the football team who just faded out of the picture.

On the Democratic side, Obama is Vince Fontaine, the smooth big talker completely lacking in substance, and Hillary is Blanche, prone to fits of inappropriate blubbering.

McCain/Huckabee - scary thought in my book (only b/c I cannot stand Huckabee)... but I think that ticket would be easier for the Dems to beat... but what a contrast between Pres & VP... it would be interesting!

about Romney being out!! He reminded me of used car salesman. I think it was the hair

Clearly I need to rent 'Grease' again if I intend to hold my own in these debates.

Tracy, the Gator is just a pictoral representation of the same big MOUTH - what's so scary about that?!

I was having trouble figuring out how Bill Clinton fit into Grease, and I was certain he was represented somehow since Hillary is there. And then it came to me.

Rizzo was referring to him in song at the slumber party: "Elvis, Elvis, let me be. Keep that pelvis far from me."

This "Elvis" fellow has to be him.
