Can anyone shed any hope for me (poss miscariage ment.)

I am not sure what board to put this on, but I am just numb right now.
I am suppose to be 8 weeks 4 days. I had an u/s today and the baby only measured 6 weeks and there was no visible heartbeat.
The Dr said that maybe I concieved at a different date and the baby could only be 6 weeks, but how would I have gotten a positive HPT when I did if that is the case? Plus I know exactly when I ovulated.
She did an HCG draw today and wants to do one on Monday and has me scheduled for another u/s in 2 weeks.
Has anyone had a similair situation and what was teh outcome good or bad?
What should I expect if this pregnancy is not viable?

I am so sorry you are going through this!!

Did you get any of your HCG results back? Can they do another u/s any sooner than 2 wks? That's an awful long time to have to wait and be in limbo.

If you are measuring 6wks they should do another scan in a few days. The heart begins to beat anywhere from week 5-7. I'm so sorry that you don't have any definite answers yet. I know it's not easy. Thinking of you....

They did tell me teh HCG results from Friday (8 weeks 5 days) was 47,000. She seemed hopefull with that but did say that it depends on what todays does.
She said if they don't go up she will scan tomorrow and make a decision, only after I brought it up.
