Gas, Colic or GERD????

Wondering if anyone has any experience with any of the above.
My newborn son seems to be uncomfortable at times. he has always been very gassy, but doesn't seem to have a problem passing it. However, it seems like he is grunting and pushing more often now with his poops and while he is passing gas. He is also spitting up quite a bit. I am breastfeeding exclusively and not understanding why there is so much spit up. My daughter hardly ever spit up! I have elevated is cradle and given him Mylacon drops. He still seems to have discomfort. He nurses great, and often, and doesn't seem to have any discomfort at all while eating.
Any suggestions?

I read once that up to 70% of babies have problems with reflux b/c the muscle at the top of the stomach is immature. Some drs wont treat as long as his growth curve is good. I think if hes miserable that a med such as prevacid might help. We were given another med first that didnt help and two different versions of prevacid before we saw relief. The one that worked for us was an everescent tablet that we dissolved in water and gave to her in a nipple med dispenser (made by munchkin). good luck!
