Ok, I need some questions answered

My SIL who had BC last year has now bone sarcoma. But it is one of those really rare types that like 4000 get or something like that. MD Anderson has treated her from the start. The prognosis 4 weeks ago was 1/99. FF 2 weeks they told her it was 30/70. Then when they went in a week ago they told her oh no you must have misunderstood it is 2-3 months tops. So I think they dropped out of the study. Right this very minute they are in Phoenix trying to get accepted for some kind of pill study with better odds. HAs anyone heard of this place and I am so worried it is a place where she will not get any results? So if you have heard of this have had some experiences with anyone who knows I would love to hear about them.

MD Anderson is a leading cancer research center as is Sloan Kettering in New York. Both are top notch and at the cutting edge for cancer reasearch, so no worries there. They are capable of trying to find both the newest and best potential trial TX for her. Good luck to your SIL.

Hi Jow--I am so sorry that your SIL, and yoru family are having to go thruogh this nightmare. I agree with Suz's comments about MD Anderson, but I am not aware of a leading cancer center in Phoenix. I know a man who had a very rare form of bone sarcoma--he was treated at The University of Chicago about 4 years ago. They have an excellent cancer research center there as well.

Thanks ladies. They find out today if she was accepted. I am just panicked that she might have closed the door on her treatment at Anderson since she was looking outside their trial guidelines. You know how strict they are with protocol. Oh I am just tired of cancer and need a break from it for a while. First my mom last year and now my sil, who was diagonsed when my mom was so sick. We never told my mom...I guess she knows now
