Not sure how I am feeling....

My Mom had a PET scan last month and it showed no tumor activity. Of course we are so happy. She will continue the temodar bursts as long as her doctor feels it is ok. Today I saw that Ted Kennedy died. He had glioblastoma multiforme just like my Mom. Obviously his was caught later and he was in much worse shape, she is doing fantastic but somehow I just feel weird, like I don't know, like the severity of her cancer is creeping back in or something because he died of it. Seems sort of silly now that I write it out but I can't seem to shake it and figured you guys would get it. Thanks for reading my ramblings.

When ever I hear someone has died it sets me up for a few tough days no matter what type of cancer it is.

Oh yea, we get it. A classmate and I were going through chemo at the same time. Both of us had breast cancer - stage 2B. She passed away a few weeks ago. It felt like she stepped on a land mine, and I've so far been lucky enough to avoid them. I was deeply affected when Patrick Swayze was diagnosed last year. And when Farrah Fawcett died - that scared me too. And these are movie stars that I don't even know! I think it's the 'there but for the grace of God go I' kind of thinking.

A dear friend's mother was just diagnosed with breast cancer. My heart aches beyond imagination. I relive so many moments. I don't think I will ever stop missing my mom. Part of me thinks "it's been a year and a half why does it still hurt so much?" I think I will go to my grave with this ache. There was a picture of Kara Kennedy that showed so much grief. So to know that someone else is now feeling those same things fills me with immense sadness.

Not silly at all Liz (((HUGS))) I get knots in my stomach every time I hear of someone losing the battle to cancer. Before I got sick, I would be saddened to hear of these deaths, but it did not cut me to the core like it does now. My first thought is always, what will happen to my girl if I'm not here to guide her through life's rough waters...it's a tough nightmare to shake...
