    Ginger...

I've been keeping close tabs on Patrick Swayze since being diagnosed last year with cancer. I watched the Barbara Walters interview. Sad. Very sad. And last week I saw his first series episode of The Beast. I loved it. Really edgey. They filmed the series in Chicago. Was there a lot of hoopla connected with it? Or did it take place with not much notice?

Shawny, you're scaring me: why are you posting about Patrick Swayze to Ginger? Is there something I don't know about pancreatic cancer? Ginger, are you okay?

Oh Mary--you sweetie! I am fine, very fine, just quite busy at the moment with some work that has started on my house.

Shawny--I have heard really good things about that show, but I honestly had no idea that it was filmed in Chicago! Either it was kept well under wraps, or I'm more clueless than I thought! Probably the latter...

    hugs--

My gosh Mary, I didn't mean to scare you. I asked Ginger about the series because it was filmed in her city of Chicago.

Ginger - Have been missing you. What kind of work on the house?

I saw the Barbara walters interview too. It was so touching. you could see his fear and yet the strength and hope and that same time. I think he's amazing to do the show. I haven't seen it yet but have seen many previews.

    Very messy work!

We've been in our house over ten years and it is a lovely old (emphasis on the "old") gem of a house, BUT, our basement floods whenever we get a big rain, which is usually once a year. We've had it with this nonsense, so we have enlisted my gem of a contractor and his extremely good looking plumber buddy to fix the problem. Last week they had the jack-hammers going for two days straight ripping up the concrete floor, and what they found was not good...lots of old, corroded pipes, but at least they found the problem, and they claim they know how to fix it. This type of thing is never any fun, but it should be worth it in the long run.

Thanks for asking sweetie. I've missed you too!
