sperm banking

My husband just finished chemo for Non Hodgkins Lymphoma in Nov 07. We are pretty certain he is sterile now but couldn't conceive now anyway b/c he is on certain medications that could harm a baby.

We banked sperm before treatments and plan on using that for our first child. We don't meet with the dr for another month so I had a few questions.

As far as I know, I don't have any fertility issues. Do you think the drs will recommend an IUI? Will I need fertility drugs even if I'm not having problems? Does this better our chances for conceiving?

Like someone said in another thread...as if cancer isn't enough to deal with!

I feel you.
My husband had non-Hodgking is 1998, Hodgkins in 1999 and a hybrid lymphoma in 2002. A bone marrow transplant (2002) using his own stem cells finally seems to have ridded him of the cancer. I kept coming back in the same spot in his lung nodes.
We too froze his sperm in 1998. I have no problems. He is certianly sertile. I had 5 IUI's without drugs, kicked it up a notch and did 4 IUI's with clomid and a trigger for ovulation, and we are finally down to IVF.
We had 15 vials of sperm to use so we tried to go the least invasive was to concieve. I did my first IVF ER 3/25 and ET 3/27 ... trying to wait patiently for 4/10 with I get my beta test done.
Good luck and keep me informed with how you are doing.
