10 Things You Should Not Say to a Friend Experiencing Infertility
    1. Pregnant yet? If your friend is pregnant, she'll tell you when she's ready. Don't keep asking her how it's going. Let her tell you in her own time.
    2. It could be worse. To a couple who wants children, it really can't be worse.
    3. Haven't you done enough? It is up to your friend to determine when enough is enough.
    4. Focus on the other parts of your life. This is really ...

  2. Hormotional

Welcome to Crazy Town. Population: anyone on fertility meds.

My DH just affirmed that I'm "crazy" because I started to get all misty eyed over my flowers blooming. I have lilies that were totally closed this mornng and by the time we had finished a cup of coffee they were 40% open... what a beautiful and precious miracle, right before my eyes! It moved me so much I was literally about to burst out into tears... each little bud blooms in succession... once one is done ...

  3. The Power of Positive Thinking

How do you stay positive? Tricks? Tips?

My gramma bought me a book by Norman Vincent Peale entitled "The Power of Positive Thinking"... I have read countless work by Louise L. Hay, Wayne Dyer, Rhonda Byrne, Marianne Williamson, Cheryl Richardson, etc. that all carry the same message: Think positive. Visualize what you want as though you already have it (manifest). Use positive affirmations. Express gratitutde in all that you do. Create your own reality with positive ...

  4. Fundraising for IVF

    by , 06-29-2012 at 11:34 AM
So many of us have a VERY hard time asking people for help, especially when it comes to finances. For anyone who is struggling to find a way to pay for their IVF, medications, etc... I wanted to share a cool idea with you. There is a fundraising website for various causes and personal projects. They take a cut of whatever you raise, but you set the terms of how much you want to raise, how you'd like to communicate with people, etc. It's really easy to set up. Send it to your friends and family ...

  5. Surviving Father's Day

    by , 06-17-2012 at 11:03 AM
After spending a good half hour sobbing into my pillow this morning, missing my own daddy (who passed away) and having a pity-party for my DH who has endured tests and many a bad **** mag in the quest to be a father, I stumbled across a funny little website blog. Here is today's post:

Happy Father’s (without Male Factor Infertility) Day--From "999 Reasons to Laugh at Infertility":

“The minute you think of giving up, think of the reason why you held on so ...

  6. Moving to IVF

    by , 05-21-2012 at 10:56 AM
I never thought I'd end up here. We never considered IVF an option until now. We even went as far as considering donor sperm to avoid the cost and ethical questions associated with IVF... but after 12 IUI cycles, we've had to face the music. Sperm and Egg are not doing what they are supposed to do, and I've NEVER seen double lines in over 4 years. At this point we no longer are considered solely "male factor", we have to assume that there is some unexplained female factor as well. ...

  7. Postiive Affirmations for Fertility

    by , 04-17-2012 at 08:38 PM
This is the part where I feel elated, ecstatic... ever so hopeful... FMU tomorrow (11 DPO). I am repeating to myself:

This is really it. This is my time. I welcome my babies into my womb and my life, and I welcome the joys and struggles of pregnancy and parenting. I invite in the new souls and prepare the way for them. I create a safe space for my children to learn and grow. I am free from dis-ease. My womb is the sacred seat of creation, and I choose to be an active participant ...

  8. Stats on 11 IUI cycles

    by , 04-08-2012 at 08:20 AM
Crazy. Who would have thought that I would still be on the IUI boards after 11 cycles???!!?? After a year of trying on our own with random unprotected sex, followed by a year of well-timed intercourse using the ClearBlue Easy Fertility Monitor, we decided to find an RE. Now it's been 15 IUIs in total (including a few back to backs).

I'm in the hopeful phase of my cycle, 1DPO, and feeling like this is finally the "one". I refuse to allow self-doubt in right now. I ...

    by , 03-22-2012 at 02:38 PM
    HELP: Syringe size????

I just got Bravelle but it didn't come with syringes. Apparently I need two to mix each 2mL vial. Does anyone have the info from the package of the needle they used so I can ask for the same kind? I have no clue what to ask for and my pharmacist was clueless. Does 25 guage x 5/8" (3mL) sound reasonable???

  10. Back in the BabyMaking Game after a 3 month break

    by , 03-10-2012 at 10:38 AM
Three months... it seems like a long time to take off. It seems like forever when the doctors tell you that with every passing month your fertility is declining... BUT I absolutely had to do this for myself and my marriage and I am so thankful that I did! I highly recommend the 3 month break!! I didn't even go on fertility forums for that entire time... it was hard but it was necessary.

We spent 3 months just being a couple, having sex whenever we darn well pleased (way less than ...
