Aaron had his kindergarten assesment today. He was so excited. He has been practicing spelling his name, saying his ABC's, counting to 10, etc. They had desks set up in the gym and there was 5 teachers, each taking a student upon arrival to a desk and talking with them. The parents got to set across the room and watch. I can tell you, Aaron is not going to have any problems socially! That boy loves to talk and to make people laugh. The teacher had him pointing to stuff in books, she asked him questions, he had to jump on some stuff and stand on one leg with his arms out. I could not hear much of what was being said but Aaron and the teacher did look at me at one point and start laughing ! I just shook my head. I knew it was hard to tell what he said ...

When it was over, the teacher said he was so sweet and so smart, that he done very well. I asked her what they would like for them to know when they start school and she stated... count to 20, recognize their name and try to write their name, say their ABC's and try to recognize their ABC's, be socialable. they are not required to know this, they will be learning this at the beginning, she said it just helps if they already know it when they come in. Aaron can spell his name outloud, write the AA in his name and recognize the other letters in his name, count to 10 and sya his ABC's. I will have to see what he recognizes with the ABC's.

I did ask her what they were laughing about. She was to start a sentence and Aaron was to finish it with an answer. The sentence was, Candy is sweet, lemons are ....... (They want the kids to say sour.) Aaron said .."Candy is sweet, Lemons are YUCKY.. The Teacher thought that was funny!! She hasn't heard nothing yet from that boy!! His dad may be getting some phone calls from the school this year because that is who I am going to tell the school to call!
