Just gotta keep my sickies straight ...

Jake's clotting and liver panel came back fine, so he's on for surgery at 8 am tomorrow. No food after 6 tonight, so I have to remember that and feed them early.

And I messed up Brian's fasting last night, letting him have milk before bed at midnight. I thought it was 8-10 hours, but nope, it's 12-14 for this one. So trundle Jake to the vet, do some pre-weekend errands and gather Brian for his bloodwork at 10:30. At least I'll get a nice lunch with Brian out of the deal.

Nothing too terrible much new here. It's COLD! 19 degrees when the diesel cranked up before breaksfast so it could warm up the engine. It never got above freezing yesterday, which is weird for down here. I don't really mind it, just not used to it. It'll be back in the 50s by the weekend, thankfully. I think maybe I need to get the heat pump looked at as it doesn't seem able to keep up with the house. It's not like we have it set for something like 80, it's set for 72 which SEEMS reasonable. And it doesn't get heat to the bedrooms like it should either. Basically the living room is warm and that's it.

Brian's boss had it out with him and gave him attitude like he couldn't do better elsewhere. Big boss is really screwing up by challenging Brian that way. Brian has an incredible knack for making the impossible possible. So I guess my goal of getting the house marketable this year will be a good one whether it's for building a house on the property next year or for moving on somewhere else.

Sometimes you just want to kick stupid people in the head. Nothing is more motivating than being told you're bought and paid for, now shut up and make me more money.
