Riley's stuttering/speach problems reach an all time high. He is really struggling sometimes saying the same word over and over and over trying so hard to force the next word out but is just completely stuck. He has developed what the ST called ticks, jumping up and down, waving his arms, squinting his eyes. I really was hoping that he would respond well to the therapy both with the ST and with the things that I do with him at home but after over 8 weeks of sessions he is not one bit better, ...

Riley has a fish tank on the dresser in his room and while putting away laundry the other day Serena wandered into his room. The monitor must not have gotten shut off in the morning I could hear her saying "ish, ish, ish" over and over. Next to Mama, I think that fish is her first word!

Yet another reminder for myself to NOT EVER take advantage of the fact that I have two beautiful, healthy children that are growing and thriving. Everything else just seems so trivial.

Riley slept good again last night! It took him a while to get to sleep and, but then he only got up once to go to the washroom and then went right back to sleep. Keeping our fingers crossed that we are back on the right track.

Riley slept so much better last night, thank God! We did hear him moaning a few times through the night, but that was all. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the good nights continue. Funny part is that I feel more tired today than I did yesterday.

Yesterday was a really rough day for Serena. I am not too sure what was going on, but she was so unlike herself. Many times I could not even put her down or she would start screaming, not just crying but the kind of screaming that induces vomitting and the whole bit. She slept for 14 hours last night so hopefully today is a better day for her. BUT Riley was up literally ALL night moaning and crying. I don't think either of us got more than 2 hours sleep at the most. He said this morning that ...

Exactly 14 months to the day Serena started to walk! For the first few days it was just an on and off thing, but now she is walking pretty much all the time. She is getting better and better everyday and bounces up really quickly when she falls too! With every day that goes by we have to leave a little more of our baby girl behind and embrace the new toddler in our lives! Very bitter sweet!

I have been suck a slacker about doing my blogging on a regular basis! I have been using up all the time that I have on the computer reading/posting on the boards and never get on here to update my blog!
Now for the whine! Riley's speach is really bad again and it is just so, so hard to watch. There have been a couple of times that I have had to turn away because I was starting to tear up. I have been trying to do everything that they recommend, but this darn stuttering just ...

We just received an e-mail and pics from a friend of ours that works for the hydro company telling us what a disaster everything was last night and this morning. Apparently there were 15 hydro poles that were knocked down due to the wind and ice. I am hoping and praying that the power stays on tonight but I have everything ready incase it does not.

We had a nasty ice storm last night that knocked out our power for the night and better part of the morning. Riley woke up at 3 freaking out that there were no lights on so we let him into our bed but he just would not settle down and fall back to sleep. I sent him back to his room with a candle on the dresser and luckily he slept until 7:30. Serena slept through the whole deal thank goodness but dh and I have been awake since 2.
